For me, Iwobi deserves cementing a place in Arsenal's first 11 either as an AM or a Winger. My worry still remains his shyness in front of goal. If Iwobi can start scoring goals in addition to his assists, he should be rubbing shoulders with likes of Edin Hazard by now.

Hazard.... cheesy grin grin grin grin grin grin,na wa o

UP BENDEL!!! The NPFL is back to the Ancient Kingdom of Benin!

RALPH OKHIRIA, Benin City

After dropping from the Nigerian elite soccer league, for over a decade, Bendel Insurance Football Club, Benin City on Monday, made a historic return to the Premier League with a 2-1 defeat of 3SC Football Club, Ibadan.

The highly anticipated make-or-mar encounter, between both teams, was concluded on Monday morning at the University of Benin Sports Complex, Benin City, Edo State, after a tension-soaked Sunday afternoon encounter that was postponed due to bad weather.

With the 2-1 win, the Edo Arsenal as Bendel Insurance are fondly called, has secured the 3 points it needed to top the NNL Table and book a place in the 2018/19 NPFL season.

Receiving the team at the Government House on Monday, a visibly-elated Governor Obaseki congratulated the management and players of Bendel Insurance Football Club for defeating 3SC FC of Ibadan to proceed to the Nigeria Premier League.

Obaseki said the victory was another fulfilment of his administration’s promise to Edo people and residents.

“My joy knows no bound because of what you have done today. I congratulate you and congratulate myself. I say this because it is another promise kept. We promised Edo people that we would bring Bendel Insurance to its lofty status which we all will be proud off and make sure they go on to play in the Premier league,” the governor said.

He described the Deputy Governor of the State, Hon. Philip Shaibu who led the team to his office as the father of the New Bendel Insurance FC and commended him for the giant strides he made in rebranding the club.

“We have built a team and have a machinery that will win the premier league, I am giving the club the sum of N25 million to show how grateful we are as a government,” Obaseki said.

Not yet, they still have to participate in the Super 8 and book a place in the top 4.

I personally don't like his style of play. But Then if some of us could believe that Liverpool were going for Simon Moses, Arsenal/Liverpool interested in Ndidi, Bayern/PSG interested in Onyekuru , Roma/Chelsea interested in Samuel Kalu, and lastly the most recent one, Manchester united interested in Victor Moses, I see no difference between this report and the ones that came before it.

There goes the sour taste of Political involvement again. They'll be giving Press Statements like say na dem be club spokesman or whatever. pisses me off. Instead of attractive sponsorship now, they are sweetmouthing the press.

25milla? Which NPFL clubs would survive on such a sum?

I hear someone say that they are lucky and what else I'm I expecting. Lol.

I hope the Insurance is intact sha!

Welcome back Bendel!! Popc can talk about this club back in days Mehn....

Well, I was only reacting to article I saw. So why the celebration in the Government house and why the N25M donation?

Or don't the Insurance officials know about the Super 8?

This one Obaseki don run donate N25M what now happens if Insurance do not finally make out of that Super8.

Interesting events to follow. Haha, we dey watch.

Loan? Agu is around 24-25 years if I'm not mistaken. At that age a player should be at the peak of his career or at least have established himself as a force to reckon with. Sadly, Agu has done neither.

No big club signs a player above the 24-25 age bracket with the intention to send him on loan. You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Kayode was signed based on his exploits for Austria Wein (If I spelt it correctly), he was expected to replicate that form in the premier league.

It appears however, that he failed to impress the Man City trainers at close range. You can't rule out visa and work permit issues as well.

So now, based on what exploit are Marseille, Juventus or Villarreal buying Agu?

And how do u know Kayode failed to impress ManCity trainers at close range?
They never hand plans for him in the EPL. As they were announcing his purchase they were announcing his loan transfer.

So tell me something else.

My bad then.

I must have been too concerned, that I've exaggerated things.

Lol no problem I can understand that. Ekong has been ok but the team has a problem with conceding silly goals and that will always make the defender look bad. I actually like watching them, udinese is a very talented squad just hope their young coach won't lose his job
