PMB - The Finisher!

As part of its test run, the Nigeria Railway Commission is offering free rail services for one month on the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri Railway line.

Passing through 3 states, Delta, Edo and Kogi, this service is expected to have a profound economic effect on the lives of the communities it will serve.

The standard guage modern service has a current journey time of 4 - 5 hours between Warri and Itakpe.

"The train will leave from station 10 Ujewu in Warri in the the morning and connect Okpara, Abraka, Owa-Oyibu (Agbor), Igbanke, Uromi, Agenegbode, Itogbo, Ajaokuta, before ending the journey in Itakpe. It will spend an hour in Itapke before its returns to Warri on the same day."

The project was first commissioned in 1987. Abandoned by various governments, with funds earmarked vanishing into private pockets, the service is finally taking off.

In the next phase, the line will be extended to Abuja. ~ Bucky 2018
