MTN Nigeria And CBN Reach Agreement, MTN Would Only Pay $35 Million by vladimiros(op): 5:32pm On Nov 10, 2018
so after destroying investor confidence in Nigeria.

after investors took out billions of dollars from Nigeria's equity market in Q3 2018, cuz fear of MTN

after attacking the biggest non oil tax payer in Nigeria

after destroying MTN's market valuation

we now come and jejely agree a fine of just $35million

no wonder they refused to announce it, thank God for people in the know who know what was actually agreed on

This is still sensible. Surely no one expected MTN to cough up a whooping $5 billion fine, that is insane, it would ruin them and send them out of the Nigerian market. $35 million may be an extremely watered-down version of the initial fine, but it's still a substantial sum.

Sadly a lot of these people you speak of focus more on playing to the gallery than making sensible statements.

Do you know what you are talking about? When was MTN fined $8 billion?

They were only asked to return the money moved out of the country illegally back to MTN own account

My brother, nairaland has the largest concentration of stewpid people in cyberspace. Else see how most of them cannot even understand the issue being discussed but will open their gutter like mouths to make claims that are not only absurd but life threateningly foolish. Look at the sourceless op we are too believe, doubleepp, who we don't know but somehow he kmwas told by somebody what deal was reached and poor nairaland standard will rush it to the front page. This means anyone can attribute his lies to source.

have you also noticed that they removed CBN from the lawsuit and now only going after the attorney general of the federation?

he masterminded this whole nonsense using CBN's name..

Then what is the $35 million fine meant for if there's no infraction?
They can't 10% of that amount on a law suit if they met all requirements to transfer the money.
