Hello guys, please I need your input on this. I went to upgrade my Mtn Sim card to 4g today but my phone (redmi note 4x) refused to show 4G network, it only show h+.

The first time I felt bad using my xiaomi phone as I tried to argue maybe the person that activated the sim didnt do it very well, only for us to put it in a Samsung phone and viola, 4G lte smiling at us... I know those people were thinking in their mind "when you will not buy good phone, na chinko you go dey carry around" because that's the only thing I could read from their face expressions.

Biko someone should help me out, may be I'm missing something here. My phone is Redmi note 4x

Check your network settings. There should be an option to select preferred network type... Chose 4g or LTE..

That is if your mobile supports mtn 4g bands.

Or your device doesn't support band 20 which is likely the MTN 4G band in your location.

Here
Dial *#*#4636#*#* the click either phone information 1 or 2 depending on the sim slot the sim is, scroll down to preferred network type and select LTE only, wait for some seconds and see if it displays LTE. If this doesn't work, reboot and try again, still doesn't work then the available 4G network is indeed band 20, available for only Global versions.
