How about they charge Nigerians moderate fee for it so everyone could get it faster?

This free for all is not working. Since it is now a generally acceptable means of Identification by the Banks and the rest, it would make sense.

I did mine in 2015, I have no idea if it is out or not as the last time I checked the status online last year, it was not out. To make matter worse, I no longer use the mobile phone number I used for the registration, so I cannot receive sms alert for it.

2012 till date, nothing....not a damn thing. Funny I went to check a month ago and met just 2 staff in the building watching movies on their phones and chewing gum at that. "you'll get a text when it's ready"....but it's been 6 years..."you'll get a text when it's ready, we're not the ones that make the card Sir" �

5 years plus yet,no I.D,they asked me to wait for an SMS invite... God help this Nation. Common Plastic I.D, they cant provide. The NIMIC officials are not helping matters.

It is a shame that after capturing for over 3yrs all I have is a piece of paper. When will the national identification card be ready for pickup, When am a 100yrs old?

I believe this news was meant to compare the government to increase the agency budget for 2019.

National identification card is another scam/agency in need of investigation.

I have gone through the comments and seen the complaints of Nigerians yet to be issued their National IDs. That was how I was lamenting too since I registered in 2013 and it took forever to collect it. I eventually collected it in the 2nd quarter of this year.

I will implore all to be patient as you will all get your cards but it will take time. The NIMC are working on the issuance of ID cards for Nigerians.
