Why not build schools of international standard and tell all the Muslims in UIIS to go there? Stop giving Islam a bad name. This is not a,christian-muslim dichotomy and there are over 20 different religions in Nigeria alone so I wonder how u got the statistics of muslims been the majority except u pulled it out of thin air as usual.

I am just tired of this Hijab issue.

I guess we christians just have to enrol our children in strictly christian schools with laid down rules prohibiting Hijab.

As a parent and christian, I can't allow my kids attend schools that allow hijab. It's a pretty straight forward and principled opinion for me.

Moreover, there are options for you in term of Private schools.

What do you suggest - (a) we do away with uniforms since they mostly don't have them in America or (b) we retain them but let kids who want to wear extra on top (rosary, hijab, cowries, red scarf, etc.) wear them? If the latter, don't you think private schools like ISI should be free to insist on the purity of their uniforms?

No sir. The International School, UI wasnt built with tax payers' money. It was created by the sheer effort and initiative of Mr Curt Hahn, a German. The man was able to get financing from the USAID and the Ford Foundation, and he approached the University of Ibadan to give him land to build the school which he did in 1963. Today, the school is run by the board.

I know this because that's my secondary school. We have a very proud history, and lovely environment in that school, regardless of our different religions. There is no segregation or discrimination amongst the children in the school that I am aware of. This attempt at bringing bitterness, rancour and disruption to such a peaceful school is very unfortunate.

We should be able to separate Religion from Education.
Go to school with school uniform and go to Mosque or Church with the respective uniforms.
