What Kanu wants is a referendum so that his people can decide if the want to be part of Nigeria or not. There is nothing to brainwash anybody about in this situation

Zik was the same person who refused that same referendum into the constitution, you can't have your way anytime you want it.

Wherever there's a conflict or dissension the state through its security outfits is there to protect lives and property and restore order. The soldiers are there for the people not against them. If anybody identifies himself with those whom the state perceived as trouble makers, it it then you have them complaining for what comes after.

It has nothing to do with where you are - it could be in the North, East or West. Your own case/complaints may have arisen from the distrust you had for the Nigerian state, which predates the present administration.
