Most of the things I learn here ,I research them online.. We need to be at times self educated ... I can recall a link was posted to help those looking for the right weight of oil for their car.... Encourage people to self sufficient, that is how you help people...

The Dexron III is an ATF meant for older AT's, it is an automatic transmission Fluid, just like the WS or Mecron LV.


It is suitable for vehicles before 2002.


Infact, running a WS on a vehicle that is supposed to run Dexron III is one calling for trouble, expecially if the transmission has done over 150,000 miles.

It is important that one finds out what fluid is suitable for ones vehicle and stick with it. All this stuffs are in the manual, but which car owner sabi manual , they just trash the big book. And trust parts sellers to tell them, e go work, e go work. Oga na the same thing.

Well with me again.....you mention autozone, Carquest, stores that sell parts.. That basically they are just selling without following the cars manual. I don't know if I totally agree on that.
In my own case ,when I was looking for transmission fluid for my elantra.. The first thing I did was to google it ,so Google brought out elantras manual and correct fluid that is needed.. Which was Hyundai fluid... so with that I now went on ebay to select the fluid.. Luckily enough Hyundai fluid was there at a great price ...And at the same there were other fluid that was also compatible with the elantra... I also research that to be

Dextron 111 cannot and would never be compatible with Toyota WS fluid. I think you are mixing up things here. Read up the 3rd link. Dextron 111 would work perfectly well on older camry 1999,2000, 2001 etc. Using dextron 3 on a 2008 camry you risk loosing that transmission. It's not a debate but just the pragmatic aspect of this field

Better person. My whole point which they were trying to blur is that Valvoline maxx life which is the most commonly used alternative for Camry 2007 and up is a Dex III.
