No sir, the so called social programs we see today are equally useless because they donot empower overall, they enslave. The kind of social empowerment program Nigeria needs right now is one that will truly change the economic culture of Nigerians away from 'buying and selling essentially imported goods' to one of small scale industrial concerns manufacturing essential goods. Our productive sector is too weak, like a candle in the wind. Every premises today on every major street anywhere in unregulated Nigeria has a chain of lock up shops selling virtually the same thing from every corner of China. If this is what the government is putting its money into then it is a recipe for disaster. The viscious cycle of import dependency can never be broken.

With a proper carrot of social funding the government should dangle a stick to beat the stubborn Nigerian citizen towards its long term economic development plan. And what is this plan. Infrastructural development. Every economic decision government makes today should be geared towards building Nigeria's infrastructure and bringing it to global standards. So the first social investment program should be the comissioning of the youth to build the dams, roads, bridges, telecomm masts, water pipe lines, power pylons, distribution station. The next stage is to intervene in the industries and enterprises that will support the development of infrastructure. The next stage is to intervene in industries and businesses that will support the biggest Nigerian corporations with the objevtive of 100 percent local content. That is supporting Nigerians that will want to make the engines and seat belts for Innoson Motors or the machine tools for Dangote cement.

When you have this level and depth of social intervention massive jobs will be created and allied industries geared towards real production and export will arise. It is then a university degrees in specialties will have real meaning. I'm afraid giving a trader who sells Chinese noodles or Thailand rice ten thousand naira is not a serious way to combat the real malaise afflicting Nigeria, that is a highly unproductive economy.

Dickson is the most wicked and heartless governor Nigeria have ever produced. No light in the state. No job for indigenes. No security. Everyday we hear bad news and killing in the state. The state capital yenegoa as small as it is, is the worse capital in Nigeria and yet this useless and wicked buffoon decided to embezzle 80B in the name of Trying to build a totally unwanted airport.
