Icon4s There's something I'm not clear on regarding the award oo.. is it only the committee members that will b responsible for nominating players for each category and deciding on the winners or will members of this thread also have a say?
Curtisaxel7: I honestly don't see why we are going for Seyi Ojo. For Chrissakes our team is overflowing with wingers presently. Even someone in the caliber of Simon Moses now struggles to make our bench!. I hear Ojo is a left footed RW, but we already have Chukwueze who has the very same characteristics (and plays at a higher level). So why exactly do we need Seyi Ojo?.
Let the NFF find us CREATIVE MIDFIELDERS. That is all we ask. AM's and CM's are welcome, any other position is not a priority for now.
We need seyi ojo for our Olympic team ,2020 is near
I think members will vote for the already decided nominees

groundnutoil: yea like Collins who is so good that he plays in German 2nd division most of your players play abroad just because they were born there that's why we are always dragging nationality with the countries the play in you think some of the npfl players won't do better if the had a more better condition to show their skills besides most or your super eagles are bench warmers in their league and your best player in the super eagles now (musa) started in the Npfl and proved himself before he went abroad the guy who gave u your last afcon title Sunday mbah was playing in the league ur best player in ur last under 23 African nation cup (etebo) was with warri wolves dn abeg talk another thing granted the league quality no dey dat high doesn't mean there aren't good players in the league too trying playing in bad pitches without salaries for months and still put up some good displays and tell me you won't do more if given a more comfortable display consistently
Ikouwem is not dear yet.
He needs to leave the NPFL .
Their is a criteria for call-up which is league quality.
You can't be playing in the Vietnam league and be expecting call-up.
gamaliel9: There was some level of organization and confidence was on and off but i liked the way they defended...i think they afraid or respected Brazil too much...overall they are progressing...
Exactly my thoughts far more cohesion against us they seemed very erratic and disorganised.
OMANBALA1: Truth is that Iheanacho has not made much progress as a developing player, and its beginning to look like what we have seen so far is all he has to offer. In the beginning at tbe U17 world cup he was banging in goals after goals and we thought we had found a gem in our hands. He was signed and the goals continue under former Man City boss but it became interesting that most of his goals came by mere tap ins. And, all of a sudden, the same player known for his swift movements with the ball and wizardry deft touches became bereft of ideas when the ball is in his feet.
His fans came to his defence and pointed out he was an emerging talent and will come good with time. Things got worse under the watch of the meticulous Pep Guadiola, and Nacho dropped down the pecking order. It was rumored Guadiola was a racist and people compared Kelechi to Jesus. The lad banged in couple of goals but to the discerning eyes it was obvious he did not measure up.
Kelechi was shipped out to Leicester and he continued with his struggle. Ok, the boy had a little setback with injury but after he became match fit the expectation that followed his U17 exploits were yet to be met. The man went to the world cup and simply didn't play. His delivery became inconsistent and it began to look like Kelechi would never meet his target. Kelechi has the most opportunity out of all his mate at the U17, meanwhile, he has regressed instead. Suddenly, Kelechi could not keep a soccer ball to his feet , he has no vision ,and his trademark defense splitting passes didn't get better. He lurks around the 18 yard box waiting for the slightest opportunity to tap a goal in. It is painfully depressing.
The question now becomes ,will Iheanacho ever come good ? What will be the next excuse ?
The bolded is so so wrong. Puts a big dent to your comment.
Watch some of Nacho's goals for City and tell me they were mere tap ins.
If seedorf is a good coach he won't even rush to take cameroun job with the name he has all over Europe .
Unfortunately the reality is that RACISM is still alive and thriving. How many black Managers do you see in the entire UK from non league to the EPL. Not even a handful.

So much misconception in your comment. Did you see Nacho's pass to Musa that was called offside? That was just his last game for the Super Eagles. Nacho won some balls in the midfield, dropped deep to build up play but you write waiting to tap in. It is clear you totally do not follow Nacho's game at all.

Sunday Mba gave us the trophy but their are better mid-fielders who play in Europe who would 've done better but due to the 7 slots for Home based players then we had no choice but to make do with what we have.
We have "raw" talents in the league but they need to leave the league to be "refined".
gamaliel9: eeem eeem clears throat again....he is a winger...he is not better than the ones in the team....and Chukwueze has joined too....i do not think we will need him...unless Rohr thinks of French connection to sneak him into the team...otherwise....He is not better than than the two Kalus,Simon,Onyekuru,Musa....in short our wings are LOADED...NFF SHOULD BE GOING FOR MIDFIELDERS AND DEFENDERS FOR NOW
The NFF should be seeking the very best that we can get. Mediocrity and favoritism should not be enthroned over merit and quality.
Compare any of our wingers statistics to the those of Seyi Ojo. And then make an unbiased objective judgement.
What we have is OPPORTUNITY given without merit and Opportunity denied without reason. If indeed the quest is to find the best.
komekn: Unfortunately the reality is that RACISM is still alive and thriving. How many black Managers do you see in the entire UK from non league to the EPL. Not even a handful.
I know it's hard for black coaches no doubt ,there was a black coach who did well in west brom, you remember right,I think he is still their coach now .
There are few good black coaches compared to others ,seedorf got his chance at Milan and blew it up,with seedorf ac Milan was turn from average team to below average team .
I am watching Henry right now and I am hoping he takes his chances unless good job like coaching Monaco will be hard to come by anytime soon ,then maybe shortly you will hear that Thierry Henry is the head coach of Madagascar national team .

Mba was a right call and he delivered. Thanks to the deep understanding of the coach.

What you are implying if not saying is that Chukwueze is better than Seyi Ojo ❓ am l right, don't wish to presume.
And if so, how have you come to that conclusion ❓
Unless opportunity is given we can not clearly determine a players impact on the SE. For good or better or is thier a fear that a better player may displace some of our home grown favoured players.
My view give the most deserving OPPORTUNITY and let the best player be selected. Unless you don't wish to have competitive selection just favoritism.
TheGoodJoe: When did leaving the NPFL become a criteria. Then we blame players for signing slave contracts in backwater leagues.
If the player is good enough, give him his chance.
Agreed without one iota of reservation or question
Opportunity is everything and players should be given OPPORTUNITY based on merit. I am even inclined to have positive discrimination towards local players in the local league. Based on potential.
Given better training and a more professional structure to improve and develop. You will see many starts being born. IMO.
After all consider where did Amokachi, Yekini, Keshi, come from.

This is the absurdest thing I've heard today.
Going by your logic, the NFF should invite EVERY SINGLE footballer of Nigerian descent to camp in order to give them opportunity to "determine thier impact on the SE".

That's not what I am saying AT ALL.
I don't know how you came to that conclusion.
Look at all my posts repeatedly I have given a basic requisite structure format for player selection. That is objective, measured and transparent.
What’s the point of the usual league? Nothing really separates the league winners from the rest than the number of away draws they can garner. Let a broadcasted super 6 mini tourney in a neutral venue decide the eventual winner. At least we can all have a better look at the refs performances.
