What's the need for more bigger church when we have bigger economics problems.

Our rich pastors can afford to fund the nation electricity upgrade to a global standard but prefer a big church auditorium that will only add to their account balances.

China, Korea, Japan, Hongkong, Singapore etc are pagan countries but doing better.

Who told u those pastors re true worshipers of d living true God Yahweh d creator of d entire universe & everything therein & Thus true followers of his son Jesus Christ?. Those pastors re pagans if u don't knw my dear, knw it 2day. undecided

Sunday offering... 100,000 members x 100 naira offering just one Sunday. Calculate that.
Now imagine how many people will pay more that N1,000 for offering in a Sunday.

Then imagine 100,000 members paying 10% of their tithes every month.

Only the Father and the son in heaven knows the whole truth because we humans don't know anything.

why do people behave as if they are dumb, how do u expect a church to Chanel their resources to the nations economy? the church is not a ministry or parastatal, there was a need for a larger space for worshipers and u expect the church to neglect her member and give the resources to ur country for economics development so their members will sit under rain and sun. #get some sense old.

Many people are here saying that 'the church should have used the money for capital development, industries, fix the roads, etc'

Well, I have news for you (and to be honest, I think the monument is not right...but that is another story).

Dr Emenche is not the elected leader of Nigeria. It is not his job to develop Nigeria or Nigerians. It is his job to be doing 'church business'.

If Dr Emenche was an elected leader of Nigeria or a businessman,or an industrialist...then by all means ,challenge him about capital development, and so on.

But Dr Ememche is a church man...and the people who donated to build his church did so in the full knowledge that the money was going to be used for the said edifice. They knew.It isn't like Ememche lied to them.

The reason why Nigeria does not do well is because

1.The businessess that make up Corporate Nigeria are in some ways poorly run. Right now, there is a thread here on frontpage about Diamond Bank that apparently is about to be run aground because of poor family management.

2.The people that make up Nigeria want stuff for free. For example, we don't have light partly because MOST people do not pay their power bills. I have lived in buildings where most of the residents don't pay their bills. Even the meter...at my current place of residence, the meter was bypassed by the previous resident.(The DISCO put a fine on the meter). Same for many other corporations. Like the GSM industry...peoplelove using cheats to get 'freedata'....and as a result...many companies cannotoperate easily.

3.Again the people that make up Nigeria engage in cheating, stealing, lying and corrupt behaviours...and their leaders reflect such people.

Now...if there was one place I would blame Dr Emenche...it is in the area of not doing enough to get people far more interested in Christ. Instead...most christians in Nigeria are interested in position, money, money, how to get a spouse, how to buildhouse, how to look good...etc. Jesus they know not.

And to my people that say that 'Look at Japan and Korea....they are not majorly Christian, but they are developed....wellthey were influenced by countries who acheived their development under a culture that was heavily influenced by Christianity....countries like France, Germany, and even the USA. (At the time the IndustrialRevolution was happening...many people still went to church in Europe....it is only since the 1960's that Church has fallen out of influence in Europe...in the US it is still strong).

The problem with Nigeria is not Dr Emenche building his chruch...it is Nigerians themselves. Even if we were to give up religion tomorrow...I guarantee you that Nigeria will not develop. Because Nigerians are not itnerested in developing. They are interested in how they can use anything....even religion or atheisim...to get gifts. (Not only Nigeria...that is how many African countries during the 1960's and 70's declared themselves Communist countires so that they could get free aid and money and weapons from the Soviet Bloc). Until we stop trying to get gifts, and start working to better life for everyone...even if it is only the guys and gals in our village...we will never develop.
