As long as what the man asks the woman to do does not contravene the law of God, she should submit to her husband in all things. Women, men, pray to GOD to choose his best for you, and walk in the right path so that you both will be divinely connected. |

noturbusiness:And you think am not married? Why should a woman drop her fathers name because I married her? Infact, I was even the one who included her father's name with my father's. See, my wife's father is my father too. One big family.. |

NwaAmaikpe:Are you married? I wonder how your wife is coping. So if she insists on retaining her maiden name you'll beat her or what? Because you paid bride price your wife should place herself under you and do as you command. Because you have equated her value to the wrappers and yam you gave. I want to beat you. |

abbeyfel:you did it because you were too scared to ask her to leave her father's name. if you think it is not important she bear her husband's name, why did you include yours to her father's name? if she use only your name you guys will stop being one big family abi? |

noturbusiness:Guy, I brought the issue up myself because I saw how she loves her father. She was so surprised and stunned! See, real men go extra length to make their women feel loved and connected. Well it's my life. You can go on with your principles, but don't even try forcing it on others. And dnt even try connecting this subject to the bible verses quoted. They do not tally at all. What concerns name and submisiveness ![]() |

abbeyfel:Will using only your name stop her from loving her father? check through all my comments you will not see anyone that talk submission and name. but I agree with the op view since the idea behind refusing to change to your husband's name is a feminist vision to equate a woman with a man. if not, the husband name does not harm or stop you from loving your dad. the husband name is so important that in the Bible, that even if a man is to be dead and he left no kids, his wife is to keep his name and the late man brother will perform brother-in-law marriage on her and any offsprings raised will bear the late man name. why did they have to go such length of the man's name can be thrown away easily? |

ivanalimi:Because you would not does not mean that we do not have sensible men who would agree So speak for yourself you are not the only man on earth. It is very cynical of men to the think that threatening women with marriage and age is a good thing. As if if she is 37 and unmarried she will die . mtcheww.Everyone has a right to plan their future it is not a fantasy. |
| Re: A Christian Woman Should Not Include Her Father's Name To Her Husband's Name by Ladyhippolyta88(f): 6:41am On Nov 26, 2018 |
alBHAGDADI:The bolded though. It is your type that becomes a dictator and not a leader in the home.It is your type that make it seem like women have no opinions in marriage.Leadership is service, by example and not dictatorship.Your idea of what a man should be in the home is not what a leader should be but what a dictator is no wonder you made this Bs of a thread.Anyway sha some women are trying.Even when I was a christian I don't think what you wrote in the bolded was what the apostle meant in regards to headship and submission. P.S Don't quote me I am not a christian and I no longer believe or agree with those things I only quoted you because your idea of what a man should be in a so called christian family is toxic and it could be toxic for the women around you. |

noturbusiness:Do you even know how surname originated? If we were in a matriarchal society at then I am sure you would be the one to answer your wife's name.Since you are so interested in the surname being the same if your wife refuses to change her name to yours you can change your name to hers. You would not die there is no law against it and the heavens would not fall. I am sure you would not like such an idea but you feel it is okay to tell a grown up adult what to do because you are a man. Some men have been known to want to feed women garbage but refuse to eat the same garbage when offered to them double standard mentality if you ask me. |

noturbusiness:Lazy minds think this way. If you live a fulfilled life, your name will never perish. Wether you have children or not. It is not children that carry your name on, but the life you live. Examples are, Jesus, Mohammed, Paul, Peter, Isaiah, 2pac, Martin Luther, Martin Luther king Jr, Ghandi, Albert Eisten, Galileo, Aristotle, Tafawa Balewa, just a few whose deeds and legacies still echo their names today. Many have children who carries their names, but still, nobody knows them Abeg who ordinary name help? A good life is better than a mere tag. If you dnt know, a name is nothing but a tag for identification. Nothing more!!! |

Ladyhippolyta88:You were never a Christian. You don't know who a Christian is that's why you think you use to be one. How dare you question me for following what the Bible authorized me to do? It's your cup of tea not believing. Kindly leave those that do alone. |

abbeyfel:oya leave us alone na. that you throw your name away does not mean you will have more of the good things in life than we that insist on keeping our name. those that are ruling this world today did not get there just by throwing away their names |
| Re: A Christian Woman Should Not Include Her Father's Name To Her Husband's Name by Ladyhippolyta88(f): 9:50am On Nov 26, 2018 |
noturbusiness:we talking about surnames here. It has nothing to do with religion. If around the time surnames came about the world was matriarchal you would be the one to change your name to your wife's lastname. You just stated what had nothing to do with my earlier mention which you could not adress. |
| Re: A Christian Woman Should Not Include Her Father's Name To Her Husband's Name by Ladyhippolyta88(f): 9:56am On Nov 26, 2018 |
alBHAGDADI:One thing you should know is that you have no right or authority to tell people who or what they were or are.So if I stated I was once a Christian you have no right to tell me I was not one I do not need your confirmation for that. And you should have taken your advise other than opening a thread thinking you can tell others what to do. One thing about fanatics or fundamentalist is that they sometimes end up confusing themselves and becoming hypocritical about things. And yes people could be devout religious people today and become non believers tommorow it is vice versa and it does not mean that the non believers of now were not strong in their faiths then. |
