Wow...mixed emotions indeed. I haven't dropped mine (hope to sometimes in Q2 2019) but I know what's going through my mind already even as of now...you are a brave woman.

It's not easy leaving a sweet known for the beautiful unknown.

But the assurance is that God has gone ahead of us to make the land favour us.

As my friend in Canada usual says..."You get better at flexing your "why not" muscles" making decisions that you know are the best for you long term even when you can't reason it all out at the start point of making those decisons.

BTW, how many months' notice did you give your employer according to your HR policy?

Goal for 2019 - How to increase your CRS Point

SOLUTIONS
1. Express entry route if these conditions apply to you-CRS Point is 440+:

Case 1: Age(18-29) with MSc/MBA, Minimum of 3yrs work experience and High IELTS Band score (L8,R7,S7,W7). Single

Case 2: Age(18-29) with BSc. Minimum of 3yrs work experience and Higher IELTS band score (L8.5,R8,S8,W8) Single

Case 3: Age(18-29) with BSc
Minimum of 3yrs work experience and Higher IELTS band score (L8.5,R8,S8,W8) Married
Additional Requirements: Spouse must have the same BSc and same IELTS Band Score as the PA.

Case 4: Same as case 1 but these are the people with 2 or more certificates
(OND & HND; OND & BSc; OND, HND & BSc) either Married/Single.

Case 5: Age(18-35) with MSc/MBA
Minimum of 3yrs work experience and High IELTS Band score (L8,R7,S7,W7). Married
Note:Spouse must score the same IELTS band and must have at least BSc which is also evaluated
Better option is L8.5,R8,S7.5 and W7.5 will see CRS points jumped to 452.
To conclude, the better your IELTS band score(L8.5,R8,S7.5&W7.5) with age and work experience as described above the brighter your opportunity of landing soon.

2. Province Nominee Program(PNP)

Age isn’t such a barrier(18-45 yrs) but your occupation is key under this program.
This is highly competitive and your occupation must be in demand for you to be nominated by the province.
Minimum of band 6 across IELTS General training is fine but better test score is more advantageous.
The allocated annual # per provinces is not that high. Most provinces have between 3000-6000 annually with only Quebec with 10,000 per year. You have to visit the Province websites and ensure you meet their criteria in order to apply. Most of the PNP are now Expression of Interest (EOI).
More details on how to Immigrate as a provincial nominee and How do I apply to immigrate to Canada as a provincial nominee?

3. French Option
Go and acquire Canadian second language by writing TEF (French exam) in order to boost your point under Language by 54 points.
This will also gives you an edge to applying to some provinces like Quebec,New Brunswick and there is possibility of Ontario as well.
Pour plus d'informations sur les examens TEF, cliquez ici

4. Additional Credentials
Add to your BSc by going for your MSc/MBA which could be taken online or in class.
Alternatively, check if you can get 1 year diploma program as well. This 1 year diploma must be recognized in Canada.

5. Study in Canada
Studies in Canada can also lead to PR after completion of your program. Studies to 3yrs Post study work permit then to PR.
To earn 3yrs post study work permit, your program must be a master’s degree/MBA or 4 semesters diploma program (18 months program)
Challenges in getting Canadian Study permit are:
1.Lack of travel history by Applicant
2.Insufficient Funds
3.Lack of ties back in home country
4.course of studies is inconsistent with previous educational history or work experience.
5.Lack of evidence of returning home(your country)
6.Medical inadmissibility
7.Criminality issue
If you can overcome the challenges above then go ahead and try applying for Canadian study permit irrespective of your age.

6. You can also check out Atlantic Pilot Project.
You can find details about the Atlantic Pilot Project HERE

In summary, in order to apply as skilled worker to Canada, you must have at least 1yr work experience in the last 10yrs under the job with skill level A, B or 0.

Pls friend I want to ask your opinion on this my own issue.
I seem to be inconclusive about it.
I worked with one of this Asian coys after my IT.
I worked for 7 months, but I did not get an offer letter
I was more of a casual worker though I worked over-full time(slaved)
My old Nigerian boss still works there tho as a consultant now,
He says he can request for a reference letter for me as per
Immigration purposes. Can I count this as parr of my work experience
Even rho casual?

Yes you can provided you worked min 40/hours a week and ....
And this should not be the first job on your NOC claiming list.
lemme say the first job on the list must be minimum of 1 year straight, others can undulate and modulate

Thank you for your quick response. plz, can my husband and I evaluate our credentials together or it has to be a separate evaluation? I meant send the credentials in the same envelope to save cast.

If from same school, put each person's transcript in seperate envelopes with referece number and name written on it and then put both envelopes in one envelope and then write ICES address on it - that should work fine

My dear black gold, in fact God bless u for this b'cos u remembered all the main categories in this ur beautiful prayer. I say a loud AMEN and most especially our IELTS takers tomoro. Am very sure many of us will be rooting for u guys in our prayers as u embark on this most important step to cannyland.
My advise is pls just be urself tomoro, wake up with zeal, determination and just smile with believe to the test venue.
Don't be pressured in any way and pls save urself from any distractive discussions as it is often common at the venues. Remember ur mission there is to achieve atleast 8777 or even more. So, u can just be glancing tru the major points u've read on ur phones or, if u feel that's not necessary, then just sit, relax and guide ur tots towards ur success from dt moment.

WRITING: It will be very useful if u begin with task1 because there is high chances u save abt 5mins to aid ur task2. & don't forget to have ur complete 7(or less likely 6 as the case maybe) paragraphs for task 1. Finally take task1 very very serious too even though its easier than task2 with lesser grade.
On task2, there is likely less chance that time will permit u to proof read, so do ur proof read along with every completed paragraphs. Pls! This is very very important. Then If u finish b4 time, it's added advantage.

LISTENING: You need absolute concentration here! Ensure ur earphones are functioning properly and utilise the time in btw d CD's for reading the next questions strictly for doing so. Pls, distraction is the only challenge here & u just have to avoid it.

READING: Has alwz been my favourite any day but had some nasty experience due to over confidence. So pls avoid it. The KEY to this is u need to study and understand the flow of the questions. That is, always read the questions first. Also, beware of some passages that might contain TFNG and also matching heading in one passage but probably on different question parts just to waste ur time. On this, u need to always read d questions and be sure that's all for a particular passage. Section 1&2 are generally simple so u shld ace all that in lesser time. That way, u'll have enough time to tackle Section 3&4.

May be Almighty see you guys through tomoro guys! We need u all in the pool asap.

Odikwa dangerous move - you dont need to keep it separately - opening new accounts, new Money market funds accounts close to AOR, Submission and co is a red-flagger.

Leave it in your normal salary account and do Tbills or FD...

I don’t think there is consistency with feedback on EOR. A friend requested his on Oct 8 and never received communication either of acknowledgment or sending to the EOR team. I did mine on October 30 and received both, with results ready by November 16. It was only after I received mine and he sent them a 2nd email that they responded that his Remark is ready and it was unchanged. I honestly don’t know if it was ever sent....

mojohnny:
This is to give an idea of the current timeline with British Council.
My friend and I both put in for EORs on the 12th of November. He selected only writing for re-mark while I selected speaking and reading. We both got emails on the 19th that the EOR had been sent to the UK team and we should expect a response from 2-4 weeks from the 19th of November.
He got an email on the 24th that his EOR was ready while I am yet to get any subsequent information from them since then. I guess because I requested for more modules to be re-marked mine is taking longer.

Anxiety wants to finish me.

Please, kindly help me with ielts materials. Thanks in advance. Irenenjoshua18@gmail.com

boco2126:
On this IELTS issue...my two cents.

1. Stick to a FEW practice materials! The number of materials for IELTS that we see on a daily on this thread can be overwhelming. Try out only a few and stick to the one that resonates with you. Don't use ieltsliz, Jay, Cambridge, ieltsadvantage, road2ielts etc at the same time (some of these peope don't agree on the same approach and reading all can get really confusing). If you try one and it sits well with you, ditch others. Focus on that one and be a master of it. I almost got overwhelmed at some point, because l wanted to open every link or try every material l saw here. But l had to give myself brain oh.

2. Practise everyday. No excuses. Create the time. Even at work, you can use your lunch break to practise. Instead of listening to music or radio on your way to work, listen to your downloaded tips on writing, speaking, reading, listening. When walking down the streets, have an earpiece on (l hate this, but we can make sacrifices for one month abi?) and keep LISTENING. At weekends, practice speaking with your wife/husband, friend, son/daughter etc. Write out questions and tell them to ask you (under exam conditions). I finished a WHOLE 30 leaves notebook for listening practice (yeah l work an 8 to 5 and live on the mainland with my office on the island -remember, no excuses!). Always check your wrong answers and replay those portions and find out what you didn't hear properly. I used youtube for listening/speaking/reading.

3. There's this ielts expert too, one Ryan (cannot remember his surname) that l think is underrated. I used his tips for writing. He talks about 15 sentences max for writing. 3 paragraphs with 4 sentences and the closing paragraph should have 3 sentences. This keeps you in check and you already know what to write before the exam, all you will be waiting for on the ielts day is the topic given! I can share his materials if you drop your email address.
For writing, write letter and essays! Don't read what someone else wrote. Write yours too. Some people practise writing by reading another's work -WRONG! write yours too and compare. Minimum letters to write on different topics - 10. Minimum essays - 20. Revise your work and look for better ways to reconstruct your sentences. I suggest you write with pencil on your exam day so you can erase if need be.

4. For reading - use youtube. It also has a timer, so practice using the time and don't stop the timer or pause the video. The easiest comprehension in reading are the first two. Spend less time there. Say 5 mins tops for each. You do not need to UNDERSTAND nada. Just look at the instructions (very important), then the questions, then scroll through the passages for the answers. You need all your time for the last two passages. They are more technical.

5. For speaking - Be confident, relaxed and know your basic english and introduction (see ieltsliz). See this as an interview. We all attend interviews don't we? I got a list of 42 likely cue cards from ieltsliz blog (l think she said they change it every 3 months but she always update the cue card questions) and l practiced the 42 different topics and l always set my two minutes timer with my phone. You can be in the BRT or your car and practice this one, or when walking down the street or whilst doing chores at home, or lying down in your bed doing nothing (l did this. Some days, people will think you are going crazy because you are talking to yourself, but...who no go no know). One of the 42 questions l practiced was my cue card during my speaking test -something on my pet animal (l was wondering "madam why me? Animal kwa?" but because l had practised earlier, the examiner had to cut me off when it was two minutes. I just went on and on.

4. Lastly and certainly not the least...the place of PRAYER. I'm catholic, so when l saw the prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino here, l made a mental note to say it. I started saying it every day from September till i wrote my exam on the 1st of November. I even added a 9 days St. Joseph of Cupertino novena with prayer and fasting which ended on the 31st of October (l'm that extra oh. I left no chances). I asked my family to add me in their prayers too. So, pray, pray and pray. Whatever works for you. Someone dropped one St. prayer here on financial assistance for POF, best believe l'll look for that prayer and do it too!

5. People have done it, you too can. Don't be discouraged if you have tried more than once. We don't give up on this thread oh. Being here has taught me a different level of selflessness and never say never spirit. People you don't even know are quick to help and empathise and l am still in awe of you guys.

6. Please drop your email address so l can send the Ryan materials to you.

This too shall pass!

All the best everyone and my apologies for the long post.

Please is there going to be a general training IELTS exam on the 15th of December 2018/5th of January 2019 or you guys will be going on break?

I'm asking because the dates are not available on your website but British Council has those exam dates.
