Tbh I don't know who is interested or not but I think SA is a no brainer. They are the only country in the continent that has ever hosted that many countries and their facilities are still in good condition

I raised eyebrows when CAF increased the number of teams to 24. For CAF to cope with this format they have to make the AFCON once in 4yrs. This will allow enough time for hosting countries to put their facilities together.

With this format of 24 teams and 6 venues and AFCON once in 2yrs CAF will continue to withdraw hosting rights.

BTW who is to host the 2021 AFCON? Have they commenced preparations? Can they put up 6 venues within a short time?

CAF needs to either revert to 16 teams hence 4 venues or alternatively maintain the 24 teams but make the tournament every 4yrs.

Egypt battles struggles with rebels and isis. They ve played most of their matches in burj El Arab Cairo.

Algeria can't boast of any single roofed stadium. All their stadias I have watched are all roofless, coupled with little capacity.

Gabon hosted it last, giving it to them again is odd and a slap in the face to the African nation.

Nigeria can boast of stadium infrastructures that needs little touch to get into fine shape before the Mundial, but we face election next year. Maybe it's time to show the the world we re giants of Africa after all. But maybe too much politics and Shananigans might be a hindrance to this dream and fantasy.
