I don't know about Michelle Obama but saying Barack Obama's real name is Barry Soetoro is infantile. My father died when I was a baby and being my mum's first child I followed her to her second marriage till I was 9 years old when my paternal grandparents took me. All those 9 years I was bearing my step father's surname (he even gave me the first name I bear to this day). After I went back to my grandparents I changed the surname.

People I grew up with still use my step father's surname when addressing me (happened at a wedding last month). That doesn't take who I really am away. There's nothing to hide in Obama bearing Soetoro. Soetoro was Obama's step father after his mother remarried following her divorce from Obama Snr. There are records that Obama later reunited with his grandparents when he was 10 years old and reverted to his real name. That doesn't make the name Soetoro a conspiracy. As for the name Barry, it is a derivation of his first name Barack.
