It's one of the very reasons driving in Nigeria is pretty much hit or miss.

its not like one should be in a rush or anything but 1 mile should nt take one more than 6 minutes driving, i mean even long distance runners do a mile in less time than 6 mins but its very possible it can take u that time whilst driving in london especially

Noone has answered the pertinent question here- why do people in other countries, either in the west or in aficar, why do they obey traffic signals and traffic and driving decorum while in Nigeria, it is the opposite? In Ghana, South Africa and most other african countries, it is the same, no cammera, no police etc, but these people obey traffic signals, why is it different in Nigeria? Even those who lived abroad, when they come home, they flout traffic signal rules, why is this?

Driving in surrey is one million times better than Nigeria, i think it has to do with you know road rules being obeyed and ermm money penalty or jail if you don't

For selfish reasons, I prefer driving in Nigeria.

I failed my driving test 2 times because of my 12yrs Naija driving experience. The first time was due to lack of respect to pedestrian and cyclist on the road.

In the UK, Nigerian DL (not the paper type Intl DL which is valid for 12 months) is not recognized for direct conversion to UK full DL (not Provisional DL which is just like a proof of ID) compared with other countries like South Africa & Zimbabwe in Africa.

Anyhow, am proud of Naija!

My major problem out there is the seat belt and the $100 fine (its not funny at all) and too much monitoring.

For me, Naija is king.

The only places i've ever driven in Nigeria are Port Harcourt and my village and I loved it.
PH city used to have sane drivers unlike Lagos. . . . .tufiakwa!

Your chances of dying or killing someone in Nigeria is far higher than anywhere else. The pedestrians and drivers are suicidal. Pedestrians run on the road of a car that is going at top speed. There is no laws or precautions. How on earth can you think driving in Nigeria or Africa for that matter is good?
I can never support people justifying wreckless driving.

What traffic lights? We synchronize our driving at intersections, it's part of the fun.
Traffic jams? What better excuse for getting to work late?
Zebra crossings? But we don't have zebras in Nigeria, or at least not on our roads. They better rename them human crossings if they want us to respect them.
Road rage? Aren't we naturally aggressive and we are we to express our frustration with People Deceiving People government.
