Agreed without reservation

You are expressing in different words my view that you can't jump to any conclusions about TOP QUALITY with youth players.

Certainly not after a few games.

No one is jumping to conclusion. The point is that the young man, Chukwueze has the potential to become a top player and we hope he keeps his head down to continue developing to make the most of his talent.

Madrid bought vinicius €45 before he made his debut but that doesn't mean he is the best among his mates
Mbappe went on to show us why city bid 36m for him didn't he?? Vincius can do the same.

‘We remain hosts of 2021 Nations Cup’ - Ivory Coast

By Oluwashina Okeleji

Football Writer, France

From the section African

The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) insists neither they nor the Ivorian government have been informed by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) of a possible shift in their hosting of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021.

The Ivorian Federation reacted to an interview Caf president Ahmad gave to Afrique Media TV on Monday when Ahmad said that Cameroon - stripped of the 2019 hosting rights - would replace Ivory Coast as hosts in 2021 and the latter would instead stage the 2023 tournament.

"We made this decision to shift, because we saw that Ivory Coast also is not ready for 2021. To do things in a more humane way, in 2021, the Cameroonians will be ready.

"And in 2023, we will organise the tournament in Ivory Coast. This is the decision taken by the Caf Executive Committee on November 30, 2018 in Accra," Ahmad said.

A letter from Ahmad to the Cameroon President Paul Biya dated 30 November 2018, seen by BBC Sport, has also surfaced in Cameroon where Ahmad has invited Cameroon to host the 2021 Nations Cup.

However, FIF revealed in a statement on Tuesday, that it has written to Caf to remind the body of the decision it took in 2014, and said the "Federation deplores this way of proceeding."

"It is reported that the Ivorian state authorities and the leaders of the Ivorian Football Federation have been approached by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) and that they would have been consulted on the recent decision taken by the Executive Committee of the said Confederation regarding the organisation of CAN 2021 which has been designated to the Ivory Coast, by the unanimous members of the Caf Executive Committee meeting in Addis Ababa in September 2014, following a successful bid," the Ivorian Federation stated. 

"The Ivorian Football Federation wishes to formally deny this allegation. No Ivorian state authority, nor any leader of the Federation, at any level whatsoever, has been contacted or approached by the African Football Confederation before taking this decision.

"In addition, President Augustin Sidy Diallo was in Accra to attend the final of the CAN Women and at no time was he informed by any leader of the African Football Confederation with regards to anything relating to this subject."

Caf, which is still looking for a new host for the 2019 Nations Cup, has not made any official statement on the reported swap and some top officials told the BBC that only president Ahmad or the general-secretary Amr Fahmy can confirm this latest development.

Guinea, who were given hosting rights for 2023, would also be affected by this shift. Guinea, which has never hosted the competition, promised to use Conakry, Kankan, Labe and Nzerekore as venues.

Back in October, Ivory Coast Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly had laid the foundation stone of a brand new football stadium in Yamoussoukro as work commenced in preparation for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Hundreds of people were present at the site for the 20,000-capacity stadium in the political capital, which is expected to be one of six venues for the tournament.

Coulibaly promised a budget of 300 million euros ($345 million) investment in infrastructure in preparation of the country's first hosting of the event since 1984.

Work on a separate 60,000-capacity stadium in Abidjan began in 2016, while other new grounds are scheduled at San Pedro and Korhogo, and the renovation of a major stadium at Bouake (40,000) is also on the agenda.
Don't know what kind of weed they smoke at CAF these days...much stronger than the old stuff.

Chineke nna oooooo.

Chukwueze is a top talent amongs his peers. And if guided right, he could be a world class player tomorrow

But he is nowhere near their level yet

Remember we are talking of 'benching' not 'standard' grin

I know you won't believe it if someone had told you earlier that he would relegate Sansone to the bench, I won't believe it either!

And yes, he can bench Dị Maria and Draxler. It is all down to coach's philosophy.

Do you know that Pulisic is now being benched by unknown 'Larsen'?
Ceballos is preferred to Isco, Gnabry is now having more minutes than James Rodriguez*...... I can go on!

Solanke was scoring goals for fun at youth level and has done zilch at senior level. What about Akpom? Arturo Lupoli? Scoring at youth level does not mean you will be given a chance at senior level.

For every wayne Rooney, there are maybe 10 other talented youngsters that were wasted at youth level and are now play non-league football.

It is like a pyramid bro. The higher you go the thinner the number of players that will leave up to expectations. And this trend starts right from the U20. But that is a general principle Sha. Only very few people in life become exceptional as u go up the ladder.

Absolutely but taken in context, in the context of Liverpool with World class players. He becomes average.

For the record,I never compared Chukwueze to Mpabbe...Those accusing me of doing so can show me proof where I said so... And I repeat that Chukwueze with his current form can make PSG team... Of course we aren't certain of what the future holds for him.. but there's no denying that he is in form.. certainly among the hottest talents in Spain right now... With constant outstanding performance he will be up there among the best in a few years...

All this talk of Chukwueze not making the first eleven of this club or that club us is rubbish... If you are good, the world will notice you.. Three years ago, when Ekong was playing in lowly Norwegian league who would have thought that he would one day be a starter in the serieA? When Iheanacho was playing for Nigeria's youth team, how many people expected him to command a starting shirt in a star studded man city team? Uzoho was playing in the Spanish third division last season and he is in the second division this season..whom knows where he will be in a few years?

My point is,we shouldn't underrate our talents that easily. they have the potential to be world class players...
The west constantly hype their own,so why shouldn't we do the same?

If Chukwueze was European, he'd be getting wave reviews week in week out...

First question who is the West, we can presume W.Europe. So who is being hyped please name some names. ❓

Tell me one player in the top 5 European leagues that is over 19, in his ever first season of professional first team football and has only played 5/6 league games and scored 2 goals that is being hyped week in and week out Please.

Let's compare him to Jaden Sancho and Reise Nelson both are 18 both have had two seasons of first team football.

However, Jaden Sancho couldn't get into City first team so left to Dortmund. He has played 12 out of the 13 games Dortmund has played in Bundesliga this season and he is number one on the team sheet. Dortmund are top of the Bundesliga. He had scored 4 goals and a number of assists. He has now has three caps for England. This is his second season in the Bundesliga. Meanwhile l don't see too much hype around him.

Reise Nelson struggling to get into Arsenal goes on loan to Hoffenhiem in the Bundesliga. This is his second season of professional football. He has played 9 games in the Bundesliga and scored 6 goals.

Only mentioned the two players who are younger and more experienced and at far bigger clubs and black and European. But there isn't too much hype around them yet they are doing really well. However, that may not transfer to the EPL.

Ademola Lookman is 21 this is his fifth season of professional football. Was winning MOTM at the age of 17/18. Played 11 games in Bundesliga and scored 6 goals on loan.

None of these players are being hyped and compared to Mbappe, or touted as the next best thing. Great potential but not a huge amount of Hype.

Consider the number of seasons played at top clubs yet they are looked upon as potential top players not being over hyped and have done quite a lot in the game.

If we were to put down the names of every player in the top 5 league of Europe that's 21 and under that has played 5 games in thier Leagues and call them top talent. That would be making light of the term OUTSTANDING HUGE TALENT.

However, in the context of Nigeria seeing that we have few top talents anybody that just makes a small wave we get Euphoric. l think it's justified under our peculiar circumstances but we really don't need to over do it.

Chukwueze is playing his first season of top flight football. He is in Villareal its not Barca or Real. He is in a very good place where opportunity is given to young promising players. He needs to be there for a good period of time so he can develop, there is a long way to go.

He has undoubted talent, but talent that needs to be nurtured and developed.

I remember Jordan Ibe at 18 playing for Liverpool after all the expectation not hype. He hasn't fulfilled his potential, although he is not doing too badly.

So let's encourage Chukwueze with moderation and positive expectations. That's not under rating our players or pulling them down but being realistic.

The hype is not coming from us here in naija, it is coming from Spain. We didn't name him Samu they did. We didn't call him one of the brightest talents in La Liga, they did. So if u have a problem with that take it up with the folks at the best league in the world. I would think they know a thing or two about talent over there.

What Rangers did away is what we should be doing all along against any African oppositions.

Being ruthless and striking fear into our opponents should be our way of football.

Bros, your attention is needed at the committee.

It's clear what this man's duty is all about here - if it's not chanting objective, subjective, prejudice, emotive, consistent performance nonsense, then count him out.

After our friendly against Argentina last year, we were celebrating and analysing the performances of our players only for Komekn to show up with his long narratives on why he thinks Osimhen is on a downward trend.

He said absolutely nothing about the match, Mujtahida had to ask What his mission is on this thread.

Same thing happened when our Jersey was unveiled, he was busy with his certifiable-verifiable-substantial-experiential-unbaised lectures. Mujtahida called him out on this occasion as well and his response was laughable.

All these things don't interest Komekn, as they don't serve his mission here.

Here am I,.. They qualified... Yes! Congratulations but I am not impressed one bit.

They real test is the knockout finals against the north African teams and we all already know how that is going to end.

NPFL needs to sit up,.. Simple

What Rangers did away is what we should be doing all along against any African oppositions.

Being ruthless and striking fear into our opponents should be our way of football.

So on this, I am better impressed with Rangers away result and they should keep it up.
so because we are Nigeria every other African country should just open their nyash for us and get spanked because it only us that want to win and play football
you do also no that all this north African countries do also loose away even to clubs to low African countries what even made you think Nigeria is a football powerhouse
we haven't reached the World Cup quarter final t
we have never won an under 20 world cup
we aren't even 3rd if you are counting countries with most afcon trophies with all our internationals playing abroad
when last did we even win an Africa best player award
yet here you are expecting every African country to bow to us because we answer Nigeria
South Africa was said to have the best league in Africa how many time have they won the caf competitions
England with its league has never won euros
am sorry but this your we ought to be logic that we should be trashing everybody is silly

The hype is not coming from us here in naija, it is coming from Spain. We didn't name him Samu they did. We didn't call him one of the brightest talents in La Liga, they did. So if u have a problem with that take it up with the folks at the best league in the world. I would think they know a thing or two about talent over there.

Send the message to AFOBEAR...what is written on his jersey is CHUKWUEZE...but they prefer to call him SAMU...just like they preferred to call Okocha JAY JAY....It is their press that is hyping the guy simple
