Below is a picture of the husband of TVC Presenter, Morayo Aka-Bashorun, who drew lots of criticisms after she said she cannot allow him bath their daughter. She made this known during her live TV show, Your View, where she said the fear of the evils out there (i.e fathers sleeping with their daughters) won’t make her allow her husband to bath their daughter despite trusting him.

She said:

”I absolutely trust my husband but I won’t take chances and have him bathe my daughter, because whether we like it or not, there is something flying in the air these days that is encouraging imbalance and immoralities. ”

Her words where met with great criticisms from Nigeria across all social media platforms who slammed her by saying she publicly disgraced her husband. Some quarters even said she subtly admitted that her husband is a pedophile.

Responding to the reactions, Morayo Aka-Bashorun shared a video on Instagram stating that her husband is a responsible man and not a pedophile.

She said:

”My husband is not a pedophile, he’s a highly responsible, decent man. He can never do anything to hurt any of his children.

Psychology has told us to teach children to respect their personal spaces and ensure that family members don’t come too close.

We need to define what is too close as a child.

So, I’m glad the conversation has started, I’m glad we’re talking about it. Let us understand that these are real life issues that are happening.”

She captioned the video:

”I will normally not do this but I feel I should respond. It’s painful that people think I would in anyway suggest that my husband is a “potential abuser”. Sad. The truth is that the show allows us to state varied views which should be respected and understood. So understand this, there are women who have used their life to vouch that their husbands would never abuse their daughters yet we see it happen. Let’s make it easy for those women to speak up. Let’s make it easy for girls to speak up about their abusers, even if it’s their father!”
