First understand what Central Business District is - before we argue.

And we can argue but pictures don't lie. Nairobi started with one CBD - also called the City Center - or also eponymously the CBD - That CBD - LAGOS still has nothing close to it. Maybe when Eko City get completed we can start talking.

Upperhill - transformed from upper class estate - to CBD - if you need pictures - we've pasted here - Upperhill is competing with Sandton. An acre in Upperhill cost upwards of 10M dollars...or well 3.5B Naira!!!.The number of buildings being constructed in Upperhill - will probably beat everywhere in Africa - we are talking super-tall buildings 300ms -

Then Westland was business district from get go - but it didn't have CBD worth the name - and the last 20yrs it transformed completely.

And if we use LAGOS standards - Nairobi has more than 15 CBDS - these are residential areas that host commercial and office spaces.

Picture 1- Nairobi city center.
Picture 2 - Upper hill
Picture 3 - Westland.

And who told you I don't understand?

Lagos island has more skyscraper than your city centre.

Sandton has ONLY two skyscrapers if that is your definition of CBD. grin

An acre in Upper hills is just $5m dollars. Stop lying. grin

Your 300m Skyscraper can only be counted as one. grin

Lagos state alone has more skyscrapers than the whole of Kenya. grin

Going by your logic, Victoria Island and Ikoyi have skyscrapers and many more under construction. grin

This is Victoria Island. grin

Skyscraper is not determined by the numbers of floors rather by the meter of height which must be atleast 100m. grin

Lagos state has more skyscrapers than the whole of Kenya combined. grin

Upperhill is one of Africa’s fastest rising high-end central business district. On average it may cost that 5M dollars- but many are going for 10M dollars. Upperhill in 10 yrs will host Africa tallest building, tallest apartment and so many skyscrappers. And coz it sit on the hill - it will be a sight to behold.

Upperhill is competing with Sandton to become Africa's financial capital - that is where most of banks & insurance company operating regionally - in addition to many multinationals are choosing to operate from.

Where Eko City is a dream - Upperhill is a reality.

These are some of towers that will be coming online in 2-3yrs - already broken ground - Africa Tallest Office Block (Hass Tower 1), Africa tallest hotel(Hass Tower 2) and Africa tallest residential apartment (88) - and possibly Africa largest mixed use complex (Montave).

The womb setters I know an totally got respect for them. Have seen guys being recommended to visit them by doctors. The bone setters I might have heard about them, not sure but I guess they are awesome. It’s like the hands of ths guys are blessed .They got a precision which can only be found in advanced Ai robotics grin..Any way we should support them in any way possible

Interesting. I never knew they also exist in Kenya.
China really invested in their traditional medicine and modified them. Today, people from all over the world patronize chinese traditional medicine.

*****We Africans on the other hand tend to look down on our own traditional medicine. The one which had been saving our forefathers for millenia and made them grow healthy till old age.

Even though we had no documentations of human development indexes before the west started making classifications.
Do you think our life expectancy in Africa for now is better than what it was in pre-colonial times?

Few Tanzanians speak their tribal languages. Most of us uses our religious names and we use our tribal surnames. What makes us one is Swahili language. It is a taboo for a Tanzanians to speak his tribal language in public, you will be seen as a backward somebody. There is no broadcaster or a print media which uses tribal languages.Almost all Tanzanians understands Swahili.we have Tanzanians who can't speak their tribal languages.I myself am one of them.I don't have the exactly number of that.
So the issue of knowing a tribe of a dude doesn't carry a weight to us.we have more than 127 tribes which makes harder to know the tribe of someone. For those who uses their tribal surnames can be identified although isn't easy since we have many tribes sharing surnames!

Ok, thanks.

*****May I know the name of your tribe? 127 ethnic groups? Wow. Very multi ethnic like Nigeria.
Which are the majority of these ethnic groups?
Do any of the ethnic groups posses up to 20% of the population of the country?

-------It's quite clear that most Tanzanian native languages would go extinct in a few decades.
Do your people feel bad about this?
Are there any groups of people fighting to promote the tribal languages?

Please don't mind my many questions, I'm a curious person and also, this is my field of study smiley

You can bark but if you can't bite it's pretty useless dog you got. That is all what Lagos does. Barking about a make-believe GDP - while there is no bite. The pictures we have seen - when they are not too minitiaure - are so underwhelming it such a shame.

I actually avoided responding to him because that would be stooping too low. Go to a developed country like US on social media and see how they mercilessly cut through their president and government - it might make you think your African country is better than the USA. If somebody's source of information on how bad a country is doing is social media comments then this person needs schooling, not debating.

You are very correct.

>>>>However, I think I get the rationale behind his post.
Tbh, you Kenyans seem very patriotic, optimistic and quite enthusiastic about your country. Most Nigerians do not feel this way..

*** I really do not see much differences between Kenya's development and that of Nigeria.
Currently, no sub saharan African country is developing at the speed of countries like China or Malaysia, so I don't really get the enthusiasm of Kenyans towards their country's development.

The attidues and gloomy picture you guys paint of Kenya makes us feel like you guys never criticize your government. That's just is.

¤¤¤¤ Perhaps you guys have the policy of never washing your dirty linens in public?

Please I need enlightenment from all Kenyans here on this subject, thanks @mtisTheQubit, Jay254, rvp20183, kur17

None is $10m per acre.

Besides, why is Sandton Africa's financial capital? I know you are only dreaming Nairobi becomes Africa's financial capital. Don't worry, is NGOs will come to the rescue. grin
