I really hope that the senate will be able to veto this bill because the President will never sign it. Every well meaning Nigerian knows that this bill will surely guarantee a free, fair and credible election.

It is necessary. A check on the 2015 election results shows that out of the over 2million votes Buhari got from Kano, over 1million came from people with no voters card. In Katsina, out of over 1million votes he got there, over 7 hundred thousand came from people with no voters card.
This amended act will remove such and let us have real voters.

Buhari is a threat to Nigeria’s democracy! It’s a shame he wants to exploit loopholes from the last election to fraudulently win re-election.

This is why I love democracy and Nigeria will be on the way to perpetually conducting credible elections. I feel sorry for Buhari though, election period will take a toll on his frail old body, he can not even campaign, Osinbajo is the one doing everything. Baba should go home.

Saraki will be circumspect initiating a move to override prrsidential veto. Such exercise is also an indirect referendum on the leadership of the NASS. Saraki won't initiate such move if he ain't absolutely sure of getting a 2/3 majority. If he goes ahead and looses, his position as NASS leader will be weakened. This and other reasons are why the NASS rarely dares the presidency with overriding presidential veto.

hehehe.u know about say 50% of this guy's especially from borno,yobe,bauchi,kebbi,jigawa,kano,katsina,'zamfara', and some many other states will only use Buhari/apc popularity to win election in those areas even without spending money for campaigns.so u think they will join the 2/3rd that will be needed abi .
If they can use the 2/3rd thing,they would have long used it not this last minutes before election

The reason Been Bruce and Olujimi gave to override Buhari assent was because usage of card reader. Meanwhile it was because of not inclusive of card reader Buhari refused his assent last time. Is it not Mr. President who asked them to include card reader.

The truth of the matter is that both presidency and NASS has interior motives beyond the reasons both of them gave

A man who claims to be upright though he is not because his being in power has really exposed him, should do all he can to allow the card reader to be used during the next election in 2019.

To the buhari supporters, I am sure if this was done by the opposition, you would have been screaming blue, black and red murder.

The legislature is a separate arm of govt. APC lawmakers are not there to please the president, they are there to make laws, check and balance the executives and as such are not supposed to be rubber stamp for the president cos of party affiliations. It will be a great deservice to Nigerians if they do that
