One of the most prestigious degrees in the UK, especially at Oxford is PPE (philosophy, politics and economics). Most British politicians studied this course. Graduate job prospects for PPE is outstanding with graduates securing positions within 1-2 months of graduating (if not before graduating) in fields as diverse as Banking and finance, Politics, Journalism and broadcasting, Law, Industry, Teaching, Social work, Accountancy, Business management, Advertising as well as Civil and diplomatic services. Your degree may not be titled PPE. However, to earn that degree in philosophy you’ll have taken courses from social sciences e.g. politics, economics and would have done logic which is mathematics. Someone has mentioned that Nigeria is a destiny changer. I don’t believe in predestination, destiny, etc. I’ll say Nigeria is a dream killer in so many ways. The fact that you graduated 6 years ago and still poses this question is worrying. Nonetheless, find graduate studies in Germany where you don’t pay tuition fees but have to show that you can maintain yourself. Or, seek overseas admission with funding in places like Canada. Once you’re in saner climes, you’ll come to the realisation that there is so much you can do with philosophy degrees. Best wishes and all the best. |
