During the National anthem at the just concluded VP Debate Something happened and wish to know who did the right thing. The current VP had his hands close to his body while Peter Obi had his palm on his chest. One of them is wrong, I want to know who and why you think so with supporting evidence of how it is supposed to be done.

They are both right. One is pledging to serve with his whole heart. The other is pledging his loyalty. I pick the former. Service comes the heart.

As a present or ex -service personnel eg police, navy, military you have it as a duty that when you are not in uniform that are to put your hands on your chest during national or military anthem. So osibanjo is not an ex- service man, so doesn't have to. While peter obi didn't know why they do that he just copying what he has been seeing around. If you know you know!

Obi was wrong .....hand by the sides for National Anthem shows total surrender and respect while you put hand on your chest while reciting the pledge to show commitment and loyalty

Are we also to assume that not singing the anthem is pardonable and not wrong?
Did you notice Obi sang the anthem all the way through..possibly, the only person of the 5 who did. I'm certain others were more concerned with the pressure of being there then, hence losing consciousness of what was going on at that time.

Funny debate. Howbeit, childish.

Should we vote candidates based on where they kept their hands during National Anthem and Pledge notwithstanding standing erect?

Over sabi killed Obi.... He was looking for media sympathy..... National anthem is different from pledge and there is a way to represent any of the two as taught in a Nigerian school.... .Secondly, they were not asked to sing.... .Nobody sang in the hall , only him..... He is foolishly looking for sympathy...... .Moderator said let's stand for the national anthem and not let's stand to recite national anthem..... Logically Obi was playing alongside the crammed script given to him

You're talking nonsense. Were they told not to sing? Or is the anthem meant for the band or the voices of the people? I assume you have done your NYSC. The way you sang the Anthem and said the pledge during parades; was that in anyway related to the way you learnt it in secondary school? Did the way our footballers say the anthem on the pitch make any difference to the sincerity in their voices pledging allegiance to their motherland? Moderator said let's stand. Did he stand?
For your information, the man in Agbada joined in towards the end. If you didn't watch the event, just admit it angry
For you to say a man like Obi 'crammed', your name is sorry. That man has been solving economic problems before you made your first ever data subscription. undecided

It's not easy like that to put hand on the chest it shows total loyalty and love for country. It is only a man who is proud of his country and patriotic that will do that.

The ones that just drop their hands are ashamed to beat their chest and say they are Nigerian. Look at the two again you will notice Peter Obi was singing along the national anthem while the shortman devil working for Bubu cpuld not even open his mouth, obviously he doesn't know the wordings.
