Funniest is Osibanjo suggesting that businessmen should leave the core duties of doing business and growing their revenues to start chasing criminals....when they are not police officers.

No wonder Osibanjo was never a business men..would have made a terrible one.

Chasing criminals is an important aspect of running a government. Forget about corrupt politicians, do you know the amount of resources governments like the US, UK and Canada expend on chasing tax evaders alone?
I bet the PDP and Peter Obi will not even consider this as a worthwhile exercise.

the key primary agenda of a government can, never be chasing criminals....tell me anywhere else in the world that the key economic agenda of the government is chasing criminals up now down.

Who said the primary agenda of a government is chasing criminals? But without doubt, it is a very important agenda of all responsible governments.
You don't need to stress yourself too much, just compare countries like Nigeria with others where corruption is kept at a minimum.
China, which Obi kept mentioning is one of the few places on planet earth where you can be shot for stealing government money.

What are the results of the "proper economic planning" the PDP put in place for 16 years? I will tell you, corruption rendered everything useless. Billions withdraw from the treasury Dasuki way.
How do you intend to prosper in such an environment? Now, we have a vice presidential candidate who doesn't believe in chasing criminals and you expect a shift from what we had during the Jonathan years? Not to mention Atiku himself who is wanted in the US for what? ......You guessed right, corruption.

oh..and what about Amaechi, Tinubu, Gandollars, former SGF, Aisha buhari, Osibanjo...these are all saints right?

Peter obi is saying that you can't make your key economic focus, fighting fictitious corruption. I put it to you that buharis government has no known economic agenda aside fighting corruption.

If you believe all these people are criminals then let's encourage the government to chase them even more. Don't let us pretend everything is ok, and downplay the importance of bringing corrupt politicians to book.

At the expense of the economy?
Lol. That is not healthy living.
Maybe we have bigger thieves intend on looting the country dry. But to make the average Nigerian bear the full brunt while they 'comfortably' fight corruption is not the way to go.
Frankly, we need a solid business brain + diplomatic combo to drive this country. Atiku/Obi has far more potential than Bubu/Osi

Economic planning and fighting corruption are not mutually exclusive. I don't understand why you keep saying at the expense of the economy. Even Peter Obi cannot in all honesty believe a government would do absolutely nothing but chase criminals.
Atiku who is supposed to lay down this vision cannot even visit the US for fear of being arrested for corruption.

Fairplay considering him and a horde of others enthroned the current schemers behind the anti-corruption fight.
If you heard Obi well last night, I'm sure you won't mention his name and that line together. That was in no way, his submission.

Now that is the point. The government was using corruption fight as excuse for poor economy when the two are not mutually exclusive

The man made his comments so that the masses can catch the true essence of his speech.
He could have said it the other way maybe saying you cannot close government to pursue criminals.

The fact of the speech sunk down to all and sundry and that is, this APC ramshackle contraption called government have nothing tangible to offer this nation hence they use the anti corruption label as their work, meanwhile the real corruption lives within them and they live it everyday inside APC.

We really do not need the smelliness and drama anymore. Too much noise here and there yet nothing concrete to be seen, no forward movement just stagnation. Yet they dare ask Nigeria again for another four years of emptiness and Jubril alias Bubu. NO WAY! We are not mad neither are we blind to see that this past three and half years have been of waste, unwarranted hardship, embarrassment, propaganda due to cluelessness.

How does letting or ensuring the justice system works or perform it's function be at the expense of the economy?
How can retrieving stolen funds make the economy collapse? Are you sure you have a clear understanding of why the economy is in this condition today? Who lied to you that corruption on large scale is necessary for the economy to run well?
Can you give us example of countries high on the HDI index that is also high on the corruption perception index?

This is why an Igbo presidency will only bury the country.

An average Igbo man sees governance as mere business. When he mounts the throne and sees the peculiarities of governance, he gets confused and starts to gamble

Letting what Justice system work? You mean the one that applies only to select people and not any associated with the FG no matter how neck deep they are in corruption? That in itself is corruption, Chief.
We hear the news of retrieved funds like everyday. Until these funds are beneficial to Nigerians, they are just words on paper which they had always been.
Don't know what you were told I was told but I agree with Obi 100%. Get Nigeria working and Corruption dies a natural death. Buhari's current plan simply gets rid of his opposition and fosters corruption all the way to the grassroots. Of course, you are blinded by the fact that corruption is synonymous with Agbada, but have you ever stopped to assess the environment you are in? How viable it is now compared to 2014? What happened to all those retrenched fellows due to a failing economy? All those are the tools to ensure the continuity of corruption.

Igbo men have been running their shops with relative success in the last 50 years while the rest of the country depends on almajirinism to survive.

While Nigeria has been stagnant, the igbo shop owners has spread out into every state and created huge employment for their men and women through self effort.
Don't mind them.
Rather than thinking or coming up with ideas to turn that HELL around
