It seems that has been a doctrinal change in the IAF wrt to prompt strike stand off weapon systems

Recenty IAF chief revealed the existence of 4 new IAF specific air to surface missiles Dhruv Astra an anti surface missile and a new generation anti radiation missile the Rudram-1 ( in addition to present NGARM already being tested ). the Rudram-2 and Rudram-3 missiles which are variants of the Rudram-1 with different functions for ground attack.

Nope ! No arms are allowed for civilian even for hunting shotgun or underwater speargun, the authorization of the gun port is very difficult to have and there is an investigation of the gendarmerie and police, and it takes on average one year and finaly only the governor signs itself the permit of weapon port .

Preparation for Dec 19 launch of GSLV-F11

GSAT-7A will enable the IAF to interlink different ground radar stations, ground airbase and Airborne early warning and control (AWACS) aircrafts. the satellite will enhance Network-centric warfare capabilities of the Indian Air Force outside the Ind... airspace if required.

India-Russia Maritime Bilateral Exercise (INDRANAVY18)

On 17 December 2018, Experimental Test Pilots and Test Engineer from IAF ASTE, flew Ind... first military flight using blended bio-jet fuel on the An-32 transport aircraft.

The project is a combined effort of IAF, DRDO, Directorate General Aeronautical Quality Assurance (DGAQA) and CSIR-Ind... Institute of Petroleum.

In an effort to evaluate its own ‘Rapid Airlift Capability’ & to enhance crew currency in the role, HQ WAC of IAF airlifted 463 tonnes of load from Chandigarh Airbase to airfields & drop zones in the Ladakh region, in a single wave with the aid of a fleet of 16 fixed wing transport aircraft comprising of C-17, IL-76 & AN-32.

Mission was accomplished in 6 hrs

Looks like work is on to convert the transport versions of ALH into on/off armed versions much like the Mi17 helicopters. It will not have a turret only rocket , gun pods much like armed mi17s

Ind.. Navy has launched its Information Fusion Centre (IFC) that will share information on vessels of interest with other friendly nations. IFC will function as a platform where multiple friendly nations can freely exchange non-sensitive information from maritime domain.

The IFC-IOR is capable of tracking and monitoring 75,000-1.5 lakh shipping traffic in the region in real-time round the clock.

Navy said IFC-IOR will work closely with friendly nations with whom Ind.. has already signed White Shipping Information Exchange agreements. So far, Ind.. Navy has signed the agreement with 21 countries, out of which with 12 countries such agreements of sharing information have already been operationalised. Ind.. Navy is so far mandated to have white shipping agreement with as many as 36 countries.

Agni 4 launched yesterday by SFC.

Range 4000km weight 17 ton

Interestingly Agni 5 weights 50 ton and official range given as 5000 km only
