Nigeria is a great country and gaint of Africa despite our numerous challenges. Many Africans countries see Nigeria just the way we see most developed countries. Can you imagine that Nigeria economy is far bigger than the rest of west African economy put together . Only our intertainment industry alone is bigger than most African countries economy! State economy like Lagos, Rivers, Kano, etc, are bigger than most African countries economy.
Its unfortunate that we insult and denigrate ourselves. you just need to travel to some of these African countries for you to understand these facts.

When you read comments on nairaland most time you just can't help but shake you head.You hear comments like 9ja is doomed, there is no hope for 9ja,9ja is a shithole,9ja is cursed and all sorts of negative word.It is just like a man waking up in the morning and raining courses on himself instead of prayers and you want God to bless you?if we don't fight to make this country the 9ja of our dreams our children will have it worse than us.

That's the reason the won't use Togo passport, especially when they have criminal intentions. They will go there commit crime and if arrested, they it will be reported that Nigerian are criminals not knowing the terrible intentions of some of these African countries to ruin our image. Of course if they escape, they will go back to Togo and deny ever having anything to do with Nigerian passport.

they may be ex-convicts in TOGO, barred from having togolese passports so they came to Nigeria!

Two citizens of the Republic of Togo have been arrested in Osogbo by men of the Nigeria Immigration Service , Osun State Command, while attempting to obtain Nigerian passports .

The Togolese, Ametchonwoun Alexandre Adodo and Awoudya Yao Francis, were arrested on the premises of the Osun State Command of the NIS when they appeared for photographic capturing .

The suspects , it was learnt, entered Nigeria without passports and wanted to travel to Kenya to secure jobs with Nigerian passports .

It was also gathered that Ametchonwoun and Awoudya applied for Nigerian passports as Alexandre Adebayo and Francis Adebayo, respectively.

The suspects said they paid N 65 , 000 to one Saheed Ajibola , who was assisting them to obtain the passports .

The Comptroller , NIS , Osun State Command, Mr Adebowale Idowu, said the suspects used fake local government identification documents from Badagry in Lagos State.

Stop talking about what you don't know...
Is it because of Nigeria's leadership problem (of which you are directly affiliated to) that you can now completely conclude on the integrity of the passport?

If you must know; Nigeria's passport is one of the only passports in Africa that can get you into ivy league universities without writing certain exams, why? Because Nigerians are known for educational prowess internationally... go and Google that.

The same goes with getting certain jobs. Now if you must know, Nigeria is amongst the few countries in west Africa that is "English speaking" officially ... go and Google that.

So contrary to what you think, the passport has an intrinsic value. But if you don't know, you won't know.

No.But plans has been concluded to extend the validity period from 5 to 10 years. Propably, it will happen next year.
