I have over ten years experience working in a tier 1 bank and am still in the system. Everything is not politics and fighting Kwarraption my dear. It is procedural for 2 people to accompany the cash on board while the bullion van with security details wait for their arrival at the destination terminal. It's not all the time that cash movement goes with fanfare sometimes it is discreetly done.
RUBBISH!
Don't use your 10years experience to justify the nonsense you're saying. Please go ask the accountants that accompany cash if it is normal for 2 men with suitcases containing N1billion to charter an airplane to ferry the money interstate without notifying the authorities. That's money laundering!
Whoever sent those guys on that errand simply used their status as staff of bankerswarehouse to attempt to launder money. Same way some unscrupulous people use soldiers to escort smuggled goods thinking they can easily get past customs.

Only a mad person will put international airport in igboland, you are inviting IGBO drug dealers and other criminals to fly abroad easily.

Let IGBO people fly from airports where they are likely to be arrested before they disgrace Nigerian passport abroad!

The banks don't. But the Cash In Transit companies do. Bankers Warehouse is one.

Cheaper in terms of running their own logistics to move the cash to Point B.

The Eatern States are a menace for CIT companies. Cost for security provision is crazy so it is way cheaper to just put it in a bag and hop on a 24k flight

You should also read this.
Two people travelling interstate with N1billion and without papers to authenticacate the transit! Union bank then insults our intelligence and claims the money on Twitter, still without supporting documents for the transit!
Rubbish!

I am not the person you replied but I will like to know why then did South Africa seize our $9m at the airport? Afterall, Nigerian officials were just in possession of it at that point, they had not carried out any transaction.

Why do various countries Customs require passengers to declare any sum above $10,000 or equivalent at airports? They should wait till I transacted with the money now?

Money laundering laws are significantly different when money is moving between countries, mostly because of modern concerns about terrorist financing and such. It's not the same when it's WITHIN a territorial financial system - within a country. That's why you would see Floyd Mayweather flaunt millions of dollars in hard cash, in his bedroom or playground, and the FBI or DEA wouldn't rush to arrest him for 'money laundering'. Same thing if he were moving $100m in cash between New York and Miami. It would be different if he were crossing the US into Europe for instance, in which case he would have to DECLARE the money.

Same applies here. It can NEVER be money laundering that a man is seen with $2m of his own money, moving between Enugu and Lagos. Unless you have evidence that he got the money through criminality, and is trying to 'launder' it into the legit financial system, in which case it becomes money laundering. The mere possession of it proves absolutely nothing.

Too many educated nitwits here don't know how to differentiate between the letters of law and the spirit of law.

But what is wrong with Nigerians?
You see this devil called naira? Nigerians will destroy themselves because of money! I have said it repeatedly that even N100 000 minimum wage is quite easy to pay to Nigerian workers…if there’s sincerity in government. After all, how many Nigerians are on government payroll.

Take for example my own state government, despite receiving the largest share
from the federation account, it is still deceiving itself that it is finding it hard to pay salaries.

How many civil servants is the state catering for?

Sadly enough the millions of jobless “army of Nigerians” plus the few civil servants see with their eyes as just a handful of politicians flaunt ill- gotten wealth before their eyes…rolling thick bundles of cash home on a daily basis; Tell me how money crime will not become order of the day for the rest Nigerians.
I have said it over and over PLEASE NIGERIANS, SEARCH ONLINE FOR WHAT YOU CAN DO. Go to freelance sites, register, and try your hands. When you hear me talk of N100 000 a month, you’ll make more than this easily online if you take pains to do whatever you are doing correctly.
I knew how Nigeria was going to be years to come before I put up this blog: www.onlinebusinessideasng.com in 2016 to help poor and helpless Nigerians, have a guide so they can succeed online. Hurry now to the home page and download my award winning free guide that is helping Nigerians mage good cash online. It’s free, clear, straight to the point, and easy to follow. My advice has been that Nigerians should leave politicians and learn new ways of making money especially online.
See, STEER CLEAR FROM BLOOD MONEY, STEER CLEAR FROM CRIME MONEY! Please. See, drop that attitude that the Nigerian education system spoiled you with. Get ready to bend your head down and learn ways of being engaged to work online and be paid in dollars. Think about it : as a graphic designer, a job I beg Nigerians to pay me just N6,000, i.e about less than $16. A typical graphic designer like me from US will happily outsource it to me at N40 000, about $100. See it.
I don’t want to preach this any further.
Thanks.
