You're right that Owerri city looks better arranged than the average Nigerian city but the satellite towns on the outskirts are presently getting overcrowded and might need intervention to avoid what happened to Port Harcourt from happening in Owerri. This includes, Obinze, Mgbirichi, Nekede, Naze, Egbu, Emii, Orji, Irete, Uratta and other towns. They are urbanizing faster than existing infrastructure at same rate with Lagos and Abuja satelite towns which eventually turn out ghetto.

A typical example is Rivers people. Yes, the farthest distance those people go to is Port Harcourt because they have lots of opportunities on their doorstep

I think Rivers people stay at home more than any other tribe in Nigeria due to huge opportunities

I have lived in or at least visited almost all the major cities in Nigeria, so when I gave it Owerri, I know what I'm saying.

don't be deceived. i am in owerri now everywhere look is filth and bad roads. i took dis pix just last month. ararume will fix owerri and imo at large.

Bros no be lie o. Same with Enugu. Though not every where but the few places look really cool and unique. I was at Owerri the other time and I was so in love with the orderliness of that city.

The only city in Nigeria without the menace of bikes and Keke napep!! Also, what helps Owerri in being an orderly and beautiful place is the fact that the city and adjoining suburbs has a very high number of educated people, intellectuals, and a relatively large presence of people who have lived abroad but now resides in the city. Almost every Igbo man who has stayed abroad but wants to come back home always liked to stay in Owerri or Enugu so all these has contributed to make the citizens very critical and relatively exposed.
