Check the letter; he is divesting from downstream arm of his company. . Not the major revenue source which is upstream.

For many years, downstream in Nigeria hasn't been lucrative/profitable for oil concerns, so his decision is understandable.

It is safe to say many in this forum are brainless, didn't you see where they gave the reason for sell was the he wants to divest into refining and petrochemicals? What has buhari got to do with somebody's investment decision? The man wants to compete with dangote in the area of refining.
Re: Femi Otedola To Sell His Forte Oil Shares by adisabarber(m): 4:22pm On Dec 24, 2018

Even Otedola is feeling the heat from this useless administration. It was not so during the time of GEJ.

Just see a whole Femi selling his property.

I pray he puts DJ Cuppy up for sale at any online stores, I might consider buying her.
You have headache!

Some people on here are just block heads... He says he is selling is shares in the down stream sector of his company and not upstream, midstream.... to explore and maxise in refining and petrochemicals... HE MAY BE trying to build an oil refinery....

Lol. See how myopic and malevolent people are disparaging and mocking Otedola - conceit will always remain God's gift to small-minded people. He's taking a wise decision because starting from 2019, the downstream sector of the oil industry will no longer be a goldmine in the country. His divestment decision has nothing to do with neither hard times nor poor government policies.

He's truly a shrewd businessman.

You mean PDP is the evil wind. You will wail forever. Nigeria will never fall into the hands of thieves again. Anywhere they turn it shall be wailing, wailing, wailing for PDP and their cohorts. Their wailing will know no end. Wail on. cheesy

Very soon I will deactivate my account on nairaland. It has educated me but it is time go for better informative forums. Kids here do not read but want to be first to comment. They know nothing about business but they like to comment. I wish we all get everything we want from spreading stupidity.

Are people stupid or what? Selling shares does not mean you are going bankrupt or broke, the rich are always investing and divesting!
Actually when the owner of a public company liquidates his holdings, it's never a good thing at the very least, it's a sign of a lack of confidence.

Imagine Bezos saying he is selling all his shares in Amazon, that amount of shares alone will saturate the market and drop the stock price.

DIAMOND BANK "JUJU" DON CATCH AM.

Nigeria's Board Room CEO most times live fake lives, live false lives when they are indeed sinking financially.

This was a man that has invested in SUPER YACHT, hang out with all the BIG GIRLS AND SLAY QUEEN EVEN INTERNATIONAL SLAY QUEEN.

He used to hang out with Aliko Dangote where they embark on spending spree.

The hen have come to roost.

He don Red O.

He is going to lick his wounds like Diamond Bank Chairman, Paschal Dozie.
