December 25th had always been an holiday for Iraqi Christians.
What the government just did is to extend to all Iraqis regardless of religion.

At the best of times, Christians consistute about 5% of the population (about 1.5m) now down to 0.3m

Nigerians that are praising Iraqi government for doing this to minority will criticize their own government if it dare declare holiday for traditionalists.

Let us officially welcome Iraq to the civilised world.

It seems America literally bombed sense into them.

True, them recognizing Christians now by officially declaring Dec 25 as a public holiday to attract sympathy or something from christian nations will not stop America ( a Christian nation ) from bombing them. Their is a questionable reason behind their declaration of Dec 25 as a public holiday.

I love countries open to new ways. Medieval religion has ended for those who kill and destroy in the name of religion. Atleast with this, they will tolerate other religions amongst them.

Hello, Whats Christ_like about America

America is all about interest over religion. They play the card when it needs to be used. Whats Christ-like about America, Has the country ever affiliated with Christianity? When America says "In God we trust" Have you ever seen them to be specific about the God. If it might interest you America only has "God" in its declaration, and it doesn't exist in their constitution

So, declaring 25 Dec as public has now make Iraq a civilised world
If we are to use your ideology, then USA is not a civilised country since it has not yet recognise sallah day as public holiday.
And mind you, America never bombed sense into them but sentiments, intolerance, poverty, famine, diseases and create more terrorists and terrorism into them.

The world can actually see how intolerant Islam can be

Wherever Muslims are majority, the minorities are always persecuted and they often forget their usual propaganda "Islam is peace "

But as soon as the tables turn, they begin to preach how peaceful Islam can be undecided

E-deiot! Why don't Uk or US declare Muslim festival day as public holiday?
