The Itakpe Warri Rail Line was started by President Babangida circa 1987, it was planned as a freight-only Rail, serving the Iron Ore / Steel belt between Aladja and Ajaokuta. It is now being reconfigured as a PASSENGER + Freight Rail, to maximize usefulness.

Great achievement- the whole country should be linked up by rail.

I foresee a time when we would be able to take a train from Lagos to Abuja

Then probably linking up to Warri or Kogi.

But the challenge is maintenance we definitely have to maintain this important infrastructure

1) Nigerian Railway corporation will employ people to operate those trains and administrative staff members will be employed
2) Train stations are business hubs, people will also spend less on transportation because rail is cheaper

The Rail way that also crosses my hometown is now functional, an over head bridge is now being completed, remembered when I was young the overhead bridge was abandoned and we were forced to convert the rail track as our road.

Kudos to Buhari, more needs to done, we need our refineries working!, Aladja is a dying town, the steel plant needs to be revived.

Good questions:
1) Along the rail track new industries will be established due to increased commercial activities
2) Direct employment and indirect employment associated with increased commercial activities along the corridor will be massive
3)Cost of land and fixed assets will increase
4)As a result of the rail now farmers in the area,who has been wasting 85% of their harvests,will now have the opportunity of moving their perishable harvest on time and further thereby increasing their earning power with resultant multiplier effect
5) Increased GOT between the 2 states will ensure more money to the state Govt hence better life for the citizens
6) Food processing companies will increase in that corridor die to ease of connectivity to the massive Nigeria's population


I can go on and on because nothing generates more employment than the provision of infrastructure especially transport infrastructure.

My brother hate or live Buhari we haven't had a futuristic and pragmatic president like him in Nigeria before now. The tragedy of our existence

Nigeria cannot afford to go back to empty slogans of Projects Dumping Party era filled with abandoned projects.

He made so many senses.. If u want to fight corruption, u need to block the ways people commit corruption..

Buhari is not doing same.. For instance, according to him, o mean the PT candidate, contract bidding and awarding are one of the biggest forms of corruption in nigeria.. He stated that same thing pdp did is what Buhari led admin is doing. And what is that? They award contracts to Buhari's associates without due process.. There was one contract scandal that was reported recently. The families of the president, his friends, etc have all become Billionaire's over night....

The same recruitment scandal. U know how many scandals were reported so far under this admin. I can go on and on..
