Nigeria, my country, the supposed giant of africa but only by mouth which can't be backed up with deeds, facts and records. Things have deteriorated swiftly that we can't really determine the extent.Often times, we throw around the blame of those who actually destroyed this country, but no one is ready to take the blame. Without mincing words, the destruction of this country was a collective effort of everyone except the innocent children.

The poor masses consistently put the blame on our political leaders, because they are the ones at the helm of affairs. They dictate the course of the country, the success and failure of the country lies on them. Is that not what you think too? I have had this argument many times even within my inner circles but I'm always disappointed at the end of every debate. Who put them there? Your votes anf mine did.

Very unlike me, people have different views on what politics is really all about in contrast to what it should really be. It seems everyone have resigned to fate already. We have all lost hope on our politicians and as such, we are not bother at all on how they rule us. Election rigging is now a very common term that, it will be the first point a politically naive individual will raise to keep you shut. There's hardly anyone who is bothered about elections except the politicians and their direct supporters.

Yes, elections are rigged even though there's nothing to back this truth up.And, Yes, corruption is rampant in the system. But, don't you think we are playing to the gallery of this politicians? Make them lose interest in politics and elections, then we will put ourselves there, rule them but serve our pockets, selfish desires and political allies.I'm sure this is what their train of thoughts looks like.

Over the years, this is what we have been doing to aid them. Every vote you don't cast for your preferred candidate is indirectly a vote for the opponent. If everyone is abstaining from elections because we don't believe in the system, wrong people will keep getting to that position to satisfy their selfish desires and do the wrong things.

Two choices are placed before us:
1. Keep helping the bad politicians win elections by staying away from the polls.
2. Get out there and vote for the right candidate without letting financial gains influence your choice.

The choice is yours to make.

Have you ever wondered why Ex governors turned the Senate chamber into their retirement homes?

Stop wondering and do the needful.

And is that exactly why you don't go out to vote on election day? Unpopular candidates can never be rigged in easily.
