You should be very fine if you get your visa, you'll need your school's approval at the embassy.
jerrypeacelinks:
Hello guys, I was turned back at the embassy on the 27th of December cos my barcodes didn't match and asked to reschedule.

I have contacted my school and asked them for an extension to allow me resume at a later date. Resumption/ Orientation is 8th January while classes begin 14th January.

My school in their response have assured me that all is well if I can come on before classes commence on the 14th January and would arrange orientation for a later date for late comers into campus. Now my questions, if my expedient appointment is approved and I get a date after 8th (resumption), hope I will be safe having the response the school sent me as defense as to why I am going to leave after 8th January (miss Orientation)?

Well, below is an excerpt from the university page on internship and co-op. I guess you're thinking of co-op.

'We regard internships and co-ops as two distinct activities that have differing requirements. An internship is when a student temporarily breaks ties with the university and works at a company, often returning to their home country or town and often occurs during summer semester. The student has no direct ties to the university and is not enrolled as a student during this time. What is much more common is called a co-op (co-operative work experience) where the student enrolls for one UN5000 credit each semester during the work experience. This one credit maintains full time enrollment status. An international student must have completed a minimum of two full time (sic) semesters of study before being eligible for a co-op.'
Just like I thought, the rules have not changed. Whether Coop or CPT you can not do either until after 1 full year in the US, its common knowledge. Most schools don't put ALL info online, you will need to see an international student advisors sometimes. Here is a link to DHS website which supersedes any other https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/working-in-the-united-states ''Off-campus employment is only available to F-1 students who have completed at least one full academic year of their program of study, and who have an economic hardship that qualifies for the Department of Homeland Security’s emergent circumstances''

I guess you are misinterpreting it. The off campus work and economic hardship goes hand in hand. Either way, you can't do off campus work after a semester

Yes. Request again

Yeye people, lol. They've denied it again (in less than 2 hours) and taken the option off my dashboard. Can I mention at my interview that I requested for emergency appointment but it was denied??

No, you are. I only said if only it were possible to work after spending just one semester (which obviously seems not), I will not because of the condition attached.

Thankful for a memorable 2018, and for this platform. When this thread opened in August, i only typed “amen” to a post on success to prospective visa applicants. Had my interview 3-4days later and it was indeed a success. My journey has been greener ever since. I pray that 2019 will be from your lips to God’s ears. To those that believe, keep believing. Happy new year
I'm encouraged with these words.

Also bro I got engaged in November, so I used "other" as marital status on ds160 and I explained. When I was denied by the black vo in July, my marital was single. What do you think, or should I just change it back to single?

Plus bro, if I want to make a small change in my ds160 after booking interview, how can I do it without filling another ds160 from beginning to end all over again.
Thanks bro, I appreciate

Whether engaged, you are still single if you are not officially married. I will prefer you maintain single as it doesn't affect your chances.

As for the ds 160 form, you can use the old confirmation number that starts with AA0*** to recreate another one. Just use the retrieve option on the site

You can get hotel close to obalende which is not far from the embassy, from obalende board a napep going to Tinubu alight at cow lane. Immediately you alight you will see an hotel there at the bus stop their room is 5k. There are at least 4hotels in that area just ask around.

Tomorrow morning from the hotel board a nape going to obalende, alight at Texaco bus stop for N50 then from Texaco board another napep going to VI or Eko hotel alight at checking point that's N100. Just cross to the other side of the road that is US embassy
