Indian software guys are leaving in droves, cos the Trump administration is using a loophole in STEM grad requirement to stop the extension of their work visas.

That's one way of seeing it. How about those Indians leaving because they are not required, after all, would a company not hire them if they need to and can't find a native? Just remember, the reduction in H-1b visas sponsorship reduced under Obama and due to the recession and not for anything else.
