Restructuring, though desirable by any true progressive who is not satisfied with the abysmal state of things in this British project called Nigeria, has been degraded by politicians into a master strategy designed to draw electoral favours.
I can not trust any politicians, particularly the billionaire beneficiaries of the present systemic dysfunction to rearrange things altruistically. Even if they did, such adjustments would still be lopsided, designed to favour a privileged few. History shows that such revolutionary changes as restructuring can only be true and effective as a bottom-top concept, that is, when triggered by those mostly affected-the peasants and 'rodents' of the system.

Secession is the only true way to go by. Nigeria is a compelled unity of opposites. How it has managed to existentially defied the distrust, disunity, sectarian hatred still amaze me a lot. Even in sports, colourations of dismemberment are still very much manifest. If you doubt this, go and check the comment made by Kano pillars Head Coach about the Club's Igbo players on the loss of trophy to Enugu Rangers Club.

Lets everyone just go his or her own way. Its that simple, and all these senseless killings, hatred, fear, unhealthy competitions, and stagnancy will immediately go extinct!

When AWOLOWO and the hau sas were calling for secession before the beginning of Nigeria, abeg who was the one running around n running to britain that secession should not be granted. No be Azikiwe? He even fought it in the courts against awolowo. Igbos should just sit their ass down

That was simply because they believed in their inherent delusional mind that eventually they will be the top dog in the new nation so they fought vigorously against the inclusion of a secession clause in our constitution claiming it is treasonable.

6 years after independence, the same ibos destroyed our federalism saying we ought to now live in unity inspite of the glaring differences that existed between the major regions.

Ojukwu their canterkerous, garrulous rebel leader was all for One (fake) Nigeria when his homeboy was sitting pretty at the helm of our polical affairs

So sorry for joining in, but I too got keen on this allegation. So I googled out this from Daily Trust Newspaper 27th, October, 2018:

Q: Some people are of the view that Pillars would have won, if the players had received the necessary technical input from the bench. What is your take on this?

A: Well, I am not trying to exonerate myself but we did the best we could under the circumstances we found ourselves in. However, since a coach is said to be as good as his last match, many people may not like to see the positive contributions I made to the team. We really had a tricky situation on our hands. Substitutions are not done haphazardly. You cannot change a defender for a striker or a striker for a defender. Two of our defenders fell down and said they won’t be able to continue. We had to replace them with defenders. A midfielder also got injured and had to be replaced by a player in that position. You can imagine our situation having to make three substitutions in like three minutes. Even at that we kept telling the boys to remain focused. They couldn’t hold their nerves firmly and that was why Rangers got back into the match. As the head of the technical crew, it is natural for me to be handed the blame for the defeat.

Q: Another controversial issue is the allegation in some quarters that some of the players particularly those of Igbo extraction who were substituted as a result of injuries betrayed the team. Do you suspect anything fishy?

A: Honestly, I do not want to speak on this because there is no sufficient evidence that something like that happened. These are professional players so there is no reason for them to indulge in such unprofessional act. However, after the match, I addressed the entire team and I told the players that if anybody has betrayed Kano Pillars, God knows. I reminded them that the club has been good to everyone. The players know what they would have got, if they had won the trophy. I am sure by now they would have been talking of brand new cars, houses and cash rewards. It is a collective loss so we are not blaming anyone for anything that happened. We failed as a team.

And brother mind you, restructuring will involve a constitutional amendment. 2/3 of the upper and lower house have to ascent (correct me if I'm wrong constitutional lawyers). Please add up Yoruba, SS and SE members in the National HOA and tell me if that will be possible. Let's even pretend that we achieve this unity of Yoruba, SS and SE political forces you still will need atleast the NC some states (especially those ones that have been victims of Core Northern Oppression) to make this happen. So you see it's really an uphill task given the current political arrangements via parties. I personally would love all Southerners to unite and push for this. Funny thing if you explain to the random guy on the street in the SW what restructuring means, I'm certain he will want it. But we know we don't select our leaders in the real sense of the word. The parties do and the people who influence the parties are the ones that determine the overall outcome. Nigerians don't also like support good candidates in lesser known parties. So it seems we are running a 2 party system which is very bad for our democracy. It is sad bro but I honestly think we collectively being held back by the Northern and Southern Elites. So as it stands, true restructuring is but a dream.

Just the North East and North West control almost 40% of the National Assembly. So even if the South West, South East, South South and North Central all came together to seek the restructuring of Nigeria, they will never get the 2/3 majority needed to do so.

Restructuring is simply not possible in Nigeria because the core North does not want it and they have more than enough votes to stop it.

It is bro if the 4 geopolitical zones I mentioned can get their act together. But for that to happen will almost be a miracle really. SW and SE see themselves as enemies. NC traditionally has always aligned itself with the core North. Only recently do we have a couple states wanting to go the other way due to insecurity and mass killings. I am from the SW and I want restructuring because I know what it means for my people in the long term. But I am only one man, my voice is overshadowed by the many who are benefiting from the status quo and who choose to play politics on the subject.
