Russian online scammers even make Nigerian ones look like kindergartners.

But why is that Nigerians are synonymous with online scams if Russians are just as worse ?

Why won’t they think Nigerians are fraudulent

When your minister of finance forged a certificate and abscond to UK.

No nation would take any documents emanating from such country serious.

The country itself called Nigeria is a big scam.
Nigerian government is the worst scam organization you can find on earth.
The agencies and ministries of the Nigeria government are scam centers. Go to negotiate for anything in them you will be surprised how dirty they are. The largest scammers are those in leadership. The presidency is a seat of fraud and nepotism, the legislation chambers are filled with known fraudsters and the judiciary is a very good opposite of a place where justice can gotten. It is a place where justice is sold in an open market by the highest bidder. Nigeria stinks with corruption.

If Adolf Hitler knew, he would have focused his good effort on wiping out the entire black race and Arab nations from the face of earth, believe me, if Hitler had embarked on that great mission, other white leaders like Stalingrad, Churchill, Roosevelt and co would have joined effort with him to achieve that, and the world would have been a safer place for reasonable white people + Chinese and Asians who are more valuable to the world's development and growth.

Blacks and Arabs are the curse of the world, without them, the world would have been peaceful and sweet for other races undecided

Just visit any social gathering of black Africans or Arabs online or offline, its always bad news of either killings, robbery attacks, ritual, juju, religious extremism and terrorism, outbreak of sickness/disease, unemployment rise, civil war, political tension and agitation for control of national politics, and then sex, party, women, alcohol, drugs, gambling, nothing else cry

The only thing black Africans and Arabs are good at is:

- Sex
- Party
- Alcohol
- Drugs
- Religious extremism
- Robbery
- Killing their fellow blacks out of tribalism & religious extremism

They have never contributed any meaningful thing to global development in terms new valuable technology invention to make the world a safer, prosperous place for humans.

They are only good in destruction of the great things the white race created, black race and Arabs are a disgrace to human race, white people are so kind not to have wiped blacks and Arabs out of planet earth, very easy for them to achieve using chemical and nuclear weapons, can blacks with their dumb brain defend themselves without calling for white people to sell them weapon, disgusting races angry angry

This assertion is based ignorance. It is no where base on fact but perception.

1. Nigeria is not even the most corrupt country in Africa. Heck it's not even among top 10 most corrupt countries. Check Transparency International Corruption perception index.

2. While there is no approved metric for measuring internet fraud, it is generally believed that countries like US, UK and Switzerland, Russia loses more to internet fraud than Nigeria.

And to all those Nigerians who blindly believed what they heard and saw, with verifying first, may God deliver you.

They are ignorant, and lack research. Even I agree with you we need a lot of work to build and rebuild our image, it also very important for you to keep telling those of them that want to hear about Nigeria. You can also talk to your lecturer, and tell him he is wrong. For your friend, you can start the campaign with him and his family.
sincerely speaking, Nigeria needs to work on her corruption image. My igbo friend sent me an horrific chart yestarday . He came to the country recently, and from the airport, he took the service of uber car to his hotel where he would take a nap before embarking on his journey to the east. He said on their way to the hotel, he was stopped by the police who took him for an internet fraudster. He said he had to bribe his way with 30k naira before he was allowed to go.

Why don't you leave Nigeria then since you are ashamed and go and bleach or do plastic surgery so that you can become white.

So, I was going through my mail. And I saw this timely writeup below by Quora.com user Alexandra Goldhar. I consider the write up to be a wake up call to Nigerians. This is because it shows us what others really think of us, and how corruption and 419 eyaff pour sand-sand for our garri.

Do you know that Australians are taught in classrooms that Nigerians go through old hard drives of imported second-hand computers to get passwords to steal information from people abroad? (Is that true?)

Read below to find out how Australians view our dear country. Some of the views are funny. Others not so funny.

Minister of Information, Government and Nigerian journalists, you have a lot of work to do o!

In fact, every Nigerian, we need to change our international image fast!

Or else one day, foreigners may be looking at you the way they were looking at the narrator after the cut: as if you have come to their country to steal their hard drives.

What does an Australian

think of Nigerians?

[b]Alexandra Goldhar

"I was once invited to a friend’s house for dinner and I was asked by her mother, ‘what is Nigeria known for’. I was about to mention food, music and movies but this friend’s younger sister blurted out ‘corruption’. Everyone else on the table laughed. Then the father started talking about Nigerian prince scams and all other nonsense. I was told apparently that the sister wrote a paper on Nigeria and corruption.

" I was in a computer class once and the teacher was teaching about e-waste and how in Nigeria, people go through old hard drives and such and find passwords which are then used to steal information from people abroad. I kid you not, the whole class turned around and looked at me like I was going to steal all their money.

"Other conversations with Australians include them thinking there are no fancy cars in Nigeria, that there is crime and a lot of theft, scams as usual , poverty is rampant etc.

"So, the reaction to Nigeria is not very positive.

"However, I should add that the Aboriginal and Torres strait Islander population have a more positive view. I have Indigeonous friends who want to visit Nigeria with me and ask about the food, music and culture."

http://zikistmovement.igbodefender.com/2019/01/06/shocking-you-wont-believe-what-australians-are-taught-about-nigerians-and-computer-hard-drives/
But the realities on ground is worst than the view these Australians hold about us. It is in Nigeria we experience panties, bra ,pads of Ladies go missing , just to get rich. Some of our musicians are coming out with songs glorifying this act. All Nigerians think about is being rich , become a boss then people will come worship you.Just few think about adding value to our society and creating solutions to solve our existing challenges.

Though if you read American news outlets, there is a lot of coverage about Russian online scammers and Eastern European scammers (even before the age of Trump). It is just that for some reason Nigeria got too popular.

Most of una no get sense
This is an indictment on the character of me and you as average Nigerians. It has nothing to do with President Buhari and all those who have Special and diplomatic passports.
Some Nigerians are bad YES. but they and even some of you the very dumb ones exaggerate the crimes. And by your analysis and Australians analysis out of 200million of us 180million or more of us are criminals is that true? If that is true how is Nigeria still in existence why are UN troops or AU troops not at every corner trying to restore or maintain peace.

Some of you are jokingly typing RUBBISH you don't know this things will remain here forever and foreigners will read it and use as prove that all Nigerians are criminals continue. I remember Estonian newspaper published an article in Estonia about Nigerians discovering Estonia and moving in droves a topic here on Nairaland was their source that Nigerians were asking questions about their country on NL.
Also Somali's came here to attack us one time because a Somali put up a topic about somali''s being beautiful they assumed a Nigerian put it up and stared a series of topics and barrage insults. You do not realise how powerful the Internet is and how much consequence misinformation has.

Others mire notably, USA, Russia even North Korea use misinformation to make the world and their people think they are the greatest nations on earth and respect or fear them yet they are not the greatest in anything not live expectancy, education, health care, hospitality, etc yet we have the illusion that they are we use misinformation to destroy our selves and our economy.
I don't blame them because they are being cautious for their own safety and keeping their people and money away from us. I blame us for furthering and letting the misinformation grow and laughing over it.
This, without doubt, is one of the most sensible posts I have read on NL. A lot of ignorant folks say a lot of spiteful things about our dear country just because the don't like the president or hate a certain tribe not knowing that they are doing themselves great disservice. No matter what you do or say, you are still a Nigerian and that's how the international community sees you. The earlier we understand this fact and stop acting like morons the better for us.

God bless

The reason why we cannot fight corruption in Nigeria is because everyone is selective...corruption fight exists as a 'weapon' to discredit our opponent. Actually fighting it is not something your typical Nigerian wants to do.

Like that gent you quoted....am sure during GEJ's time, he would have been calling people who accused that government of corruption liars and thieves. Likewise, I have seen many antiGEJ people here write paens of praise for PMB...despite Gandollars and Grasscutter being actively free (among many others)

That's why I am trying my best to avoid commenting on Nairaland political threads. Nigerians don't take fighting corruption seriously...unless it is their political enemy in trouble...then they attack. As for me, all I say is....regardless of your political affiliation, if you steal from Nigeria, a pox on your house!
