Douglas road
If they transform the median of Douglas road through REAL planting trees, Owerri would be on it's way to becoming a truly world class city. But they will likely make it look arid by plastering it with concrete and buying cheap fake plastic trees to set up along the road.

I think this was why I asked the other time, and no one answered. Isn't there too much concentration of projects in only Owerri? I'm sure other LGAs r crying out for help
Fact is: most people of Owerri zone hardly recognize that Imo state extends beyond Owerri. They believe a state was created for governors to development state capital..
They may want state capital roads paved with gold, while people outside Owerri live on 18th century dusty roads.

Most primitive parochialism.

And in about, eight years, Owerri has a windfall in gov Okorocha who because of his private businesses in his village and Owerri, decided to make Imo state to become Owerri. His sycophants churn out photos of Owerri and call it Imo state.

Ejiot. Go build industries in Owerri to generate funds to make Owerri a mega city, instead of blackmailing governors to use funds meant for development of 27 local govt areas to build only in Owerri

See how Owerri's excess parochialism put gov Okorocha and Imo state into political "ogba aghara" - turmoil.

Okorocha listened to most parochial people's advice to first build Owerri Mega City - it doesn't matter the decadence which goes on in the other LGAs in Orlu and Okigwe zones.

This is the 100th time I'm saying this, but I'll keep repeating it. At least, there's some kind of urban renewal in owerri to make other towns like orlu or okigwe jealous. But nnewi or onitsha is not complaining because there's no urban renewal going on in awka. Warri people are not crying because there's no massive urban renewal going on in asaba. There's absolutely no urban renewal projects going on anywhere in nigeria. So, all these crying about orlu and okigwe not getting anything is because there's actually something happening in owerri which is not happening in other cities in nigeria.

So please, stop crying about orlu. After all, for over 40 years, absolutely nothing was going on in orlu or okigwe.

You bastards can never discuss your backward state without add Anambra to it. Is a progressive Anambra the cause of dilapidation and filth in Owerri and Imo state at large. Since when has dilapidation and filth in Owerri become urban renewal?

Everywhere in Imo state is a mess but you guys are so stupid and useless to focus on discussing your state.

Focus on discussing your backward worthless Owerri and Imo state at large or i will destroy this useless thread with the real pictures of Owerri and not this propaganda going on here. Hopeless people

We can't be intimidated. Yes, we will always cite Anambra here anytime we want. If you don't like it, u should go and drink Sniper. The good thing is that nairaland has rules. If lots like u misbehave, we will unleash the rules on you.

PS: Nobody is crying; I just want your madness corrected by the M0D this New Year before you make your way to 0chanja Market

Lest I forget, I won't reply you again!

Nearly any development infrastructure you find in Asaba is found in Warri.

If a gov neglects Warri, the oil producing zone to build only in Asaba, heaven may fall in Delta state.
Orlu zone has a most docile citizenry in Nigeria, that's why the zone which makes Imo an oil producing state is abandoned by state government.

In Anambra, no governor can contemplate what is happening in Imo state, without getting impeached. Of course, the senatorial zones of Anambra state get commensurate attention from every governor.

You can never justify using the resources meant for development of an entire state to build what suits you in just one space in the state - Owerri.

State capital my foot.

The only thing I can say is WAOH... I definitely can't shout. If I forget any other road in Imo, I definitely won't forget this. Went there to buy stuffs for resumption, the stench n all was something else entirely.

I really commend Rochas for this o... I also remember when I heard he was destroying the market and people were complaining, I'm sure those people will see the road now, and rejoice.

I'm really humbled by this. If they finish t, e go turn Oshodi DURING FASHOLA'S TIME, not now o.

But let someone quickly get across to them, and give the suggestion of greens in between the road, as Chima have stated.

Well, you just made my point. There's no urban renewal projects going on in warri or asaba, so none of them is complaining that one is getting too much. It's also pathetically false that warri people are not complaining about the neglect of their city. As a matter of fact, the sultan of sokoto, three days ago, was complaining how the infrastructure in the city of warri has decayed and needs urgent attention. But warri is not shouting about asaba getting massive infrastructure for the simple reason that asaba is not getting massive infrastructure.

You also made my point with your anambra example. There's absolutely no urban renewal projects going on in onitsha, OR awka OR nnewi. As a result, onitsha, awka and nnewi is not complaining about anything because nothing is happening anywhere. I was shocked the other day, not quite one month ago when Peter Obi was saying that he built all the current roads in onitsha, which means that useless obiano have built anything in onitsha.

So, like I have been saying for the longest time, the reason why people are whining about nothing happening in okigwe or orlu IS BECAUSE THERE'S SOMETHING HAPPENING IN OWERRI. If okorocha had come in and absolutely did nothing in owerri like other states in the country, orlu or okigwe will never have been complaining about anything. So, your examples are all false.
