Is Amaechi Now Amongst the Wailers? Editorial By Soibi Ransom President Muhammadu Buhari may have won a straight ticket to re-contest under the All Progressive congress but his support from within his party the All Progressive Congress has hit the rocks with certain new revelations by a prominent member of his circus, Rotimi Amaechi. The current Minister of Transport and two-tenured Governor of Rivers has in a leaked audio taped released by the opposition’s ( Peoples Democratic Party ) media officer Reno Omokiri to have hit out at his principal Buhari with strong words that are capable of damaging his relationship with the Presidency forever. Amaechi had let out a can of worms in the audio recording when he said the President doesn’t read or listen to advice and the opinion of the masses means nothing to him. “The president does not listen to anybody. He doesn’t care. You can write what you want to write. The president doesn’t care. Does he read? He will read, he will laugh. He will say ‘come, come and see, they are abusing me here’. “In fact, there was one case of somebody in Onitsha, a trader in Onitsha who couldn’t sell his goats during Sallah. And I was with Oga on the plane and the man was busy abusing Buhari. He said, ‘Amaechi, come, what is my business with Onitsha goat seller? Rotimi Amaechi a major player in President Buhari’s cabinet was instrumental in Buhari’s victory in 2015. Amaechi was reported to have diverted billions of Naira from the Rivers State treasury to help oust President Jonathan after his public fall out with the former First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan.
