I hope you get better investment, you are almost done playing football. I pray you don't go broke like most African players. It's then you will know all these people does not care about you! shocked shocked

I’m telling you, football gives a lot of money, but not for a longtime so invest wisely because the way you spend money while you are playing might not be the same when you stop playing.

Nigerians love material things. No science, no technology, no research ,project or discovery. Just hustle. Then buy things and show off.

You know in Nigeria when you say the truth you are called a jealous guy. Looking at the compound, you could build a nice 6 bedroom duplex and still have enough money to start a small hi-tech or any other innovative business. I'm sure Seun began Nairaland with far less money. And Seun didn't even have the Western exposure as Emenike has had over the years.

From my little experience, maintaining an average modern house is expensive, let alone a palatial one like this.

In a few years his income will reduce drastically after football career. A building of just six flats in Okota/Magodo side can earn surprisingly good returns in the years to come. I hope he has done such and more.

But it seems black people across the world who make good money have the overspending, lavish lifestyle and later left with nothing: Tyson, Ronaldihno, Emmanuel Eboue, MC Hammer, Tony Braxton, etc.

Few people reason straight if you talk, they label you vanity crew. A billionaire will conserve money while a petty yahoo boy who made a few thousand dollars will be blowing it. Zero sense.

What a reckless waste of money and space!
It will definitely be an uphill task maintaining this micro-city.
What, even with its own fly-over. What for? Is there really any practical need to park cars upstairs? Something is wrong with the Black Man. He is easily intoxicated with material things. Well, not every Black Man.
How many human beings will live in there?
Intelligent men do not build complicated edifices.
True beauty lies in simplicity.

I remember Etukokwu Castle in Onitsha.
Till today, the inheritors of that monstrosity still do not know what to do with that Leviathan of a house!
To renovate it will cost a lot of money.
To demolish it will cost even more!
And yet, it can't be sold.
It is just lying there as a permanent reminder to the wise on how not to waste resources on useless status-symbolic edifices!

I have also lived for seven years in a beautiful residence abandoned by the family of a late politician.
It took a lot of money, time, perseverance, patience, etc on my part to restore the place to its original beauty!
I learned a lot from my stay there.
I was the only person living in it.
The owners had no interest in spending a dime on it.
Nobody was willing to buy or rent the place.

Let's be wise.
I have since relocated to another town, and the house is gradually becoming derelict, since there is nobody to keep it in good stead.
A simple sweet, homely beautiful serene home will give all the warmth and comfort a human being needs .

Well said.

So much lucidity in your prose, and even more sense in it.

I like the way you write. Incredibly smooth and persuasive. If you don't mind me asking, do you write professionally in some way?

A thousand thanks!
Thanks immeasurably for reading, and for your commendation.
I feel motivated by it.

I write as I am inwardly moved.
I have unpublished works all still by my perception not yet good enough for publishers' attention.
It has been repeatedly suggested to me to consider writing professionally.
I have no objections to that.
I am very much open to guidance.

Use your brain. I was not boasting. I was making an objective commentary on societal issues. I'm still quite young. You'll see my nane in one of those things before you die. Run along.
