I disagree with this. Reason why most intelligent kids fail to translate their intelligence to sucess in their adulthood Is because they grew to become over confident in their intelligence believing it will automatically birth sucesss for them, which in most cases doesn't turn out so |

Question is how wealthy, how much connections and how many connected relatives do the parents of a brilliant child have? If you want your child to be great, then be great. If your parents are wealthy, your future will automatically be secured. It doesn't matter whether you were a good or a poor performer academically. When a brilliant child becomes a struggling adult, check his/her parents. |

Acidosis:You are correct to a very large extent, I read a book some years ago in which the author buttressed your point, can't recall the name of the book at the moment but would revert. It was recommended to me. You see, no matter how good you are at playing football, if you come from a poor home or underprivileged background, your chances of playing in big clubs in Europe and other great continents are very slim...note the word slim....it doesn't mean it's impossible but chances are slim. It's easier for a JJ Okocha, Zidane, Pep, Torres, Musa, Henry, Messi, Ronaldo, Salah, Kanu's etc wards who are not as good as you are to play in Europe than for the poor dude. Why? Privilege....and this applies to every area of life, Music, Acting, Sports, etc including getting jobs and running businesses.....good thing is, education is a leveler and once you get it, you stand a better chance. Providence also has it's role to play....that's why we have people like MKO Abiola, GEJ, Jack Ma and the likes, attain heights their parents never dreamt of..... Let me conclude by stating this popular quote: The race is not to the swift, the battle is not to the strong...time and chance happens to them all. |

I have a problem with this post. 1. what about the ones they weren't smart in school...does that mean they dont deserve assistance?? 2. Being book smart just makes you handicapped without that book...what you dont realize is that the so called "dull students" were busy experimenting other ways of living without that book...they would have been book smart if they wanted to but it was probably boring for them. 3. street smart >> book smart any day...what happened to those first class and 2.1 students in school?? 4. Anything destined to be will be. 5. self education still the best form of education ..learn to train your self and take your own selected courses. #note to self: Never take school work too serious, because you might will end up disappointed..Even when you are given a position you still feel you didn't get what you deserve. |

ikorodureporta:No body, i repeat, no body blocked anyones star. Read books my people. Have you read the book Why "A" Students Work for "C" Students by Robert Kiyosaki? My life changed when i read Rich dad Poor dad by Robert Kiyosaki back in my secondary school days. It is all about your thought pattern. School teaches you not to make mistakes and if you take only that skillset to the real world you will perform below average. That is the reason most school smart kids dont make it in the real world. They are thought to take it easy, make no mistakes, be careful, get a secured jobs. Most successful people took risks and learned from their mistakes. These are skills schools dont teach you and it explains why most school smart kids dont do well in real life. |

M3A16:So many weired things had happened to me but I never for once had the notion that it's someone from somewhere that is doing me. I still live my normal life. Some of those things people believed make them to be filled with so much fear of the unknowns. Nobody is doing anyone. If you fill your mind with the notion that someone somewhere is operating your destiny from somewhere, you will always live with fear of such notions in your mind day in day out. Why do we see people being hypnotized in our today's world? I can show up and tell you that one of your person in the village is planning your evil. He doesn't want you progressed. They want to take everything from you and instantly you will be filled with fear. And at that point, I can brain wash you and extort you just because you believe what I said that truly someone from your village is after your destiny. That's the point I am trying to make here. Nobody is after you. Don't believe those stuffs. When you believe stuffs like that, they make you become more vulnerable in your emotions and thinking. You will look like a prey that can easily be preyed on any time. But when you don't bother your mind with those kind of stuffs, you will live your normal life and no one will ever have the thought of preying on you or using your beliefs as your major weak point to instill fear of the unknown in you. When some stuffs happen in your life, don't be too quick to jump into conclusion that it's someone that is doing you from somewhere. See it as part of life. And clear your mind off every form of spiritual beliefs and the like and you will see that you will live like a free man without filling your mind with the thoughts of the unknowns coming after you. |

franchasng:hmmm... 4 novels a day. I'm sure they were big novels too. It's even more impressive that you have read every book written between 1990 and 2010. Tell me, which in your opinion is the better Sheldon book between 'Tell me your dreams' and 'Are you afraid of the dark'? Also, what do think of 'Dog eat dog' by Niq Mhlongo? Pseud... |

CreepyBlackpool:You are spiritually illiterate, and daft. Does reading get you a job after performing exceptionally well in the interview? What of those who score high in UME and still struggle to secure admission? if you know nothing about spiritual matters, please shut up and stop deceiving people. |
