No need to worry, it won't affect your application. For tier 2 application, all they want to see is that you have had the maintenance requirement for the required number of days.

I just came across a thread where someone mentioned cash/money lodgment as grounds for visa refusal.

Thing is, my tier 2 dependent Visa was refused late last year because we didn't present a satisfactory maintenance letter to cover for my family (I am the dependent), we resorted to using a bank statement to support my next application.

Now, because my partner won't be applying with us (+child), we decided to use my own personal account which has my name in full as seen on my passport (we didn't use my other account which is more active because it has just my first and last name).

After reading about cash lodgment now, I am a little afraid that the ECO will likely have issues with the fact that the account didn't always have funds in it, just a few thousands here and there (prior to the commencement of the 90days).

We paid in the the total sum of the required maintenance cost for my child and I (plus a little extra to allow for fluctuating exchange rate), and are just waiting for the total of 90 days to be up before we reapply.

I just need to know if the cash lodgment will be a problem, so we don't go wasting money and time again and find another alternative.

I never knew UK grants 2 years Visa on first attempt. I have always thought you need to have been granted a 6 months Visa first before being granted a 2 years visa.

My hubby recently applied for a visiting visa for my parents in November and they were denied based on financial reasons. Both had about 1m in the account, but my hubby didn’t submit the account he had money in it..n he said on the form he’ll be part sponsoring the trip.
Now we want to reapply with all the right paper work: parents individual bank statements( dad is a retired military officer)mum is a tailor(gotten Peter head from school to support claim)
Pictures of siblings back in Nigeria, utility bills , landed properties for both of them, Hubby’s tenancy agreement here, bank statements, hand written letter.
Do I need to write anything as am on spouse visa n not yet working?but am expecting n need my mum for omugwuo..
Any other advice on what they can add would be appreciated

If your hubby is sponsoring the trip in part he needs to submit a bank statement with adequate funds in it to show he can foot their bills.

Your parents since they are footing the other part of their trip's bill, need to also submit their bank statements to show adequate funds for their trip and enough in it to motivate their return back to the country.

Did your husband state in the letter of invitation you're expecting? You might need to submit a letter of invite too though I don't really see the need but just to have enough information to support their application. All the best.

I am currently filling out the marriage visitor visa application form as I plan to visit the UK in order for myself and my fiance, who is a British citizen to get married at the registry. I would then return to Nigeria immediately afterwards. We plan on settling in the UK later on in the future at which point I know I would then have to apply for the[b] spousal visa.[/b]

I would like any advice anyone can give to help ensure this application is successful. I would also like to know if anyone on here has personally filled/submitted the same form (UK Marriage Visitor Visa). If anyone has can you please tell me if it was successful and also share a comprehensive list of the process and most especially of the documents you had to submit.

Also I was refused a visa to the UK in 2012 when I applied to go for my master's degree. Reason given was that I applied too close to my course start date. I quickly got another admission to a different school and reapplied in about 3 weeks and I was then granted.

I would be really really grateful if someone (or more) reaches out with some helpful information/advice as I need to submit the form very very soon.

Anyway to your questions - yes you can apply before or after your treasury bills matures either using the bills' certificates as part of your supporting documents (before maturity) or writing a cover note to explain the huge deposit in your account (after maturity).

Yes you can use money market fund investment as part of your proof of availability of funds. I know ARM (money market fund managers) do issue out letters to embassy on behalf of the investor showing availability of funds. All the best.

2. Letter of introduction from employer (or NYSC) stating employment status and benefits
3. Own bank statement showing availability of unencumbered funds to cover the cost of the trip
4. Show close ties to home country (especially having a steady employment which will motivate her to return back after the trip)

I did not apply for a "marriage visa", but I have applied for settlement visa before and it was successful. From your post, it seems you want some form of re-assurance that the visa will be granted. No one can guarantee you that, but I do know that a lot of people apply for marriage visa and get it.

I just want to make an observation.
The burden and need to prove reliability is so stressful in nigeria as per visas and immigration requirements.

I just applied for a 2 year visit visa to the UK where I currently live and was given after 6 working days .
I have been to the UK several times but the last time I applied was 2012.Last travel January 2014.
Had a 24 hour transit in 2017 coming from the states.

I didn’t submit my prior passport
I didn’t submit any landed property-where I live a foreigner cannot buy a land or house anyway.
I didn’t submit marriage certificate or family pictures.
My appointment letter wasn’t written in English and there was no payslips.
I only had a salary certificate.
I needed to do all this when I apply in Nigeria.

Can something be done to ameliorate the suffering and stress.
It’s backbreaking.

I put expected spending to be 2500 GBP and didn’t explain any details.

I submitted a statement of account printed on the day of salary payment .
As at the time the visa was issued I had spent all the money .

Something should be done.
Let our minister or foreign affairs and the high Commisioner to the UK make complaints.
