First and Formost for an explosion to occur, the cylinder or hose or valve must have been leaking... and since the cooker was in use, the 3 things needed for combustion are now present, Heat(Fire), Oxidizing Agent(Air), Fuel(Gas)..
.
It has nothing to do with phone or no phone.. this is simple physics...
Even if the phone had the highest concentration Of Radio Waves, once there is a leak the fire burning on the cooker would have to ignite FIRST!.. before any radiowaves.

If ur cylinder and cooker are in good working conditions there shouldn't be any fear of combustion because the fire triangle would lack one vital component, Fuel to burn.

a petrol has alot of vapour coming out of it that's why you can siphon fuel using a pipe but you can't with kerosene... Almost the same thing with gas because it has stronger forces holding it hence it's been forced into a cylinder to stay put because it can move haphazardly if exposed to thin air hence causing explosion... A gas cannot and will not explode if it's within its confined space but a little leakage can make it go kaboom... Using your phone near a leaking gas or a petrol station especially when it's been dispensed can cause an explosion if there is static electricity between your hand and your phone

There's no way the flame can go into the cylinder, the gas is pressurized in the cylinder and the moment the cooker is switched on it forces its way out through the hose to the burner.
Have you done this before, spraying an insecticide and light up the fumes, the flames cant go into the container because the content is pressurized.

You aren't a scientist, science is empirical and so son, you know little and lack the knowledge on issues like this. I'd advice you to pipe low when such technical issues are being discussed. If the gas cylinder is leaking, its a possibility for the statics created by the phone to cause an explosion.. same happens in petrol stations, even rubbing ur body on the car in a way while refuelling causes fire, if you doubt, why not give it a try expecially in this harmattan period and see how popular you'd become..Thanks
