The major issue I have with this strike is not that is not resolved yet after nine whole weeks, but, if the government release this money will it be put into good use or would the suffering and frustration that this strike has put Nigerian students through be in vain ?

Buhari is the new Father Christmas in town!
First, he gave Guinea Bissau $500,000 last week, and he has now approved a grant of 1 billion dollar for Sudan to enable them fight famine.
This is a country that can't pay 30k naira minimum wage. A country that has been designated as the poverty capital of the world fighting poverty in another land.
A country that has been borrowing and even trying to sell of its assets to finance a budget is giving to another country.
A country that doesn't suffer famine, but its citizens are very hungry.
This grant to a great extent revalidates the Jubrin saga!
This man must be voted out at all cost!

please tell me u r joking with that highlighted part.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has barred its members from participating in the 2019 general elections processes.

It also said the offer from the Federal Government in the efforts to meet its demands as contained in the 2017 Memorandum of Action (MoA) is still fluid and far from expectations.

It, however, allows members to voluntarily participate but without using any material that bears ASUU or insignia that relates to the union.

In a strike Bulletin 8 issued and signed by the union’s President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, a copy of which was obtained by the University of Ibadan chapter of ASUU, asked members to await further developments on the strike which are ‘rapidly unfolding.’

According to Ogunyemi, the proposal from government towards resolving the demands of ASUU as contained in the 2017 MoA is still fluid and far from expectations

The bulletin read: “Though some progress has been made with respect to discussion with Government agents (The Minister of Labour and Employment as well as Minister of Education), at the moment, the proposal from Government towards resolving the demand of ASUU as contained in 2017 MoA and Strike Bulletin 1 is still too fluid and far from expectations. Hence, it is the view of the NSCC that members should await further developments which are rapidly unfolding.

“In accordance with the ASUU’s long standing position, ASUU as a union will not participate in the conduct of 2019 general elections, although members may voluntarily participate in the conduct of the elections. However, members are prohibited from participating in the election processes using any material that bears ASUU or relates to the union”

Quite nice from the union
at least they've proven they ain't money starved and they ain't fighting for their personal interests as some people has claimed

this is what a final battle should look like
let the strike continue until government complies fully

at least, We'd have a feel of good education afterwards

Rubbish!
I wonder why individuals and bodies who claim to be intelligent will advice people to boycott an election.

That's never a solution.

They should've advices their members to vote against the ruling party that has been unfavorable to them instead, this way the government will see them as a threat and try to resolve whatever issues they have

Strike: FG’s offer in resolving our demands still

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)
has said that the offer from the Federal
Government towards resolving the demands of
ASUU as contained in the 2017 Memorandum of
Action (MoA) is still fluid and far from
expectations.
ASUU, in Strike Bulletin 8 signed by its President,
Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, a copy of which was
obtained by DAILY POST on Thursday in Ibadan,
the Oyo state capital, asked its members to await
rapidly unfolding developments from the strike.
As a union, ASUU said that it will not participate
in the conduct of 2019 elections but its members
may voluntarily participate.

I really want Buhari to win.

I want to know what it will take to get Nigerians to their breaking points...as a point of reference.

/

The country may not survive it as again I am tempted to recall a certain rumour that the CIA referenced or predicted that Nigeria will disintegrate into smaller units some years back.

What's their game plan? United States interest? Has he been ousted and hence not campaigning like he has already seen the euphemism on the wall?

Just some random thoughts. I will really like my timid compatriots to all reach breaking point at the same but my fear is the country might for a long time become Gehenna.

The strike should please go on,we ain't complaining about nothing. All those wailing on our behalf,we are grateful for your help but please let them sort this issue out once and for all;moreover education in this country is overrated.
On a second thought,it's not like those people clamoring for the strike to be called off have money to return back to school, they are just talking so they won't be seen as been unserious(itibolibo)...

Quote me at your own peril.
