Hi Nairaland, it's been awhile. I have been going through a lot of things lately that has forced me to think of what humans have thought about for years.

What is the meaning of life?

From a Christian stand point , we are here as a preparation for eternal life with God. The question becomes why did God have to create us here first. Why not create us eternally in heaven to serve him?



From an atheist point of view, when we die we simply seize to exist. It's like trying to imagine where you were before you became conscious. If that is the case, why then are we here? Does it mean our consciousness has no purpose or meaning in the grand scheme of things?

I do not disagree with you on this. There's no evidence yet to support an afterlife but if this is this case and then when we die it is nothingness and we fade into oblivion, what then is the purpose of life?

Why are we the only objectively conscious species? Of course goats and cockroaches maybe conscious but we do not have any evidence to support that.

Why are 100% certain that there is an afterlife? Do you have any recollection of a beforelife? Where were you before you existed?

There's no after life, I have not seen it before and there's no proof to that.

When you die, you don't just go, you decay and your atoms are recycled to build other things in the universe. Literally, people don't actually die, life itself doesn't exist.

None is able to say something pertinent to the course of our existence or why we're here except a documents found amongst the Jews. According to historians, this documents was originally written in three different languages, Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.
Later intellectuals combined all these documents together in one big volume and called it Bible. It reveals how a spirit being started all these but what really arouse my interest is the efficacy of this big book in the foreknowledge of certain things we later discovered to be just as this book says!
For example it talks about our vast universe and SPECIFICALLY mentioned that life could ONLY be found on earth! Now this has been proven to be true as space travelers have gone far only to discover that the earth is the ONLY planet where life could flourish. Just as this book said that the spirit being actually PREPARED the earth for living creatures! Genesis 1:1-31
Though other intellectuals criticized this book for it's illustrative presentations but NONE can explain how this ancient book that was written by those primitive dwellers knew that life ONLY could be found on earth!

Humans can't go extinct.
Earth-Supported Life is mostly significant because of this.
But,Humans can't go extinct because they are humans (smart smart man).
As regards the afterlife,there is nothing like purpose in it functionally.
If there is an afterlife,it will only buttress that Man is an Expression of Pre-determined Absurdity.
The Possibility of Spirit Realms is a declarification(Anything described as a "Possibility" thereby making it illogical to appreciate reality considering the absurdity of its existential significance).
Even if there is an afterlife which could also be described as a spirit realm,Man will still be screwed by his Nature-even spiritually.

Again this book also mentioned SPECIFICALLY that the earth is spherical! Isaiah 40:22
Now this is strange because by the time this documents were written,the popular believe or assumption is that the earth is FLAT since we're seeing everything as flat as possible. But those ancient Jews actually said the earth is SPHERICAL or ROUND so that other nations reading through the pages of these Jewish documents just laugh it off as nonsense, until modern day discoveries proved those ancient Jews RIGHT!
Again this book SPECIFICALLY mentioned that our home planet is HANGING UPON NOTHING. Job 26:7
Certainly this will also arouse a controversy amongst those ancient people who couldn't see any massive object been suspended upon NOTHING as in having no support! But thanks to space travelers, who have been to the moon,took a picture of our planet home and show us all that what those ancient Jews wrote is TRUE!

Again this Jewish documents also contains some foretold events that baffles today's readers as what those ancient Jews calls it PROPHECIES!
For example, Babylon is ancient city that was ruined and remains like that till today! It was located in a region around today's Iraq.The spirit being actually said Babylonians spoke injuriously of him so he cursed Babylon saying it will be destroyed. Of course Babylon is no more in existence today as the prophecy said,it's just the ruins that could be found and wild animals are dwelling there as foretold by this spirit being.
But what baffles intellectuals today is not just how an ancient world trade center was destroyed, rather it's the prophecy which says IT WILL NEVER BE REBUILT!
When Saddam Hussein(Iraq's last military ruler) heard of this he was angered about what some ancient Jewish spirit being revered as God said regarding his own soil. So he declared that Babylon WILL BE REBUILT to undo the curse from this spirit being and put God to shame. But Saddam Hussein died with all his offsprings and the word of JEHOVAH the God of Israel stands UNCHALLENGED!
So i'll implore sincere and honest hearted persons who TRULY wants the answer to search for those sent by this spirit being called JEHOVAH,for a certainty they'll be able to answer this thought provoking question "WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE?"

So specified time is also involved.
But 'Existence' is possible when Time is unlimited for events to occur timelessly.

I honestly do not understand you. We know that everything is energy. The material universe is energy believed to have started in a singularity then expanded and continues to expand.

Now why this singularity? Why couldn't there just be nothing? No experience? We won't be having this conversation? There will simply be nothing.

So we have NO business with other planets since HE created those ones for other purposes and we can ONLY gaze into the sky to see how HE controls them as the book says "HE calls(these heavenly bodies) by name!" Isaiah 40:26

I also have to ask this. Now according to science the universe is infinitely vast. With millions of planets, why did God make these other planets , just for us to live on one?
