EngrSaks: I will advise apply now for all the family members and let them come within 3months after the main applicant moves. If you apply separately, it sort of complicates the ILR application because when main applicant is due for ILR the dependant wont be and then he or she with (the kids) if any needs to change the class of Visa by exiting the UK to apply for another category of visa.... That Is my understanding 2 Likes |

Ralphlauren: And such absence must even be explained for the Tier 2 main applicant when applying for ILR by obtaining leave approval letter from your bosses before changing jobs advisably. Too much wahala.... 1 Like |

LaaJiblik: Injustice in the rawest forms! Man that was about to be attacked with knife has pled guilty for man slaughter.. like why? Is he the one that put the knife in her bag? See how her brother is opening mouth to say rubbish. It’s not their fault! 6 Likes |

Aphrodite007: My dear @Aphrodite: The guy is guilty ohhh No defend am abeg. He pleaded guilty for MANSLAUGHTER because he indeed is guilty. It may not be culpable homicide or Murder but it’s clearly a case of manslaughter. Pains me when I see Nigerians being linked to these vices. |

RalphJean: Saddening seeing Nigerians linked to this, but could be he just pled guilty for Manslaughter rather than take chances in murder trial |

That case looks/sounds weird. She fell onto her own knife? involuntary manslaughter maybe..? I've joined the Name checkers association when it comes to these knife crimes- absolutely gut wrenching seeing Nigerian/African names 2 Likes |

RalphJean: Huh, how's he guilty? Aren't we reading the same report from the newspaper that the lady had a knife in her bag of which she mistakenly fell on it? Okay...may be the boy didn't have a very good lawyer to represent him well or something. |

ChristoBam: Huh, I wouldn't make such a comparison. OJ Simpson case was due to the very sloppy investigators and some who were caught being biased. With this UK case it seems most people already found him guilty without the benefit of the doubt that he might be innocent. |

fatima04:Jeez! See my life for outside ooo. So na rubbish I pack full for head. Never knew this o, thought once the main applicant has ILR, it covers others too not knowing they will also have to complete their 5 years. So does that mean they will extend their visa? Does this also apply to a child born here? |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Hunnybee: 7:40am On Jan 12, 2019 |
Hi fatima04... Does this mean the family does not necessarily have to come within one month of getting the visa? Will there be any penalty for such?? fatima04: |

Heritagee: They can't extend Tier 2 again because the class of visa Don change to PBS dependant or so not sure about this but don't worry you will sort it out by then because rules may have even changed again |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by fatima04: 6:36pm On Jan 12, 2019 |
Hunnybee: They can come within 3months and not travel again for the next 1 year so that the year will be valid towards ILR. This is based on the you must not stay outside UK for 90days in any 365days. This is to the best of my knowledge, elders will come add if incomplete. 1 Like |

Thank you Fatima.I always thought they'd have to pick up their BRP within one month of the visa being issued or can the main applicant pick for them? fatima04: |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Nobody: 11:09pm On Jan 12, 2019 |
I'm not an expert on this but I believe once the visas have been issued, you all have to arrive the UK within 30days (you'll find in your visa that it expires 30 days from when it is issued). As for BRP, I don't think you can pick up for anyone who is yet to arrive the UK. And this is how it works, You get to pick the nearest post office or address (if you settled in quickly) and have them post it to you, which is usually 10 days of your arrival. I stand to be corrected. @hunnybee 4 Likes |

Hunnybee: Yeah that's true, forgot totally. Would advise them to just come within 1 month once and for all. No point going and coming back to naija. 1 Like |
