Doesn't stop the police from arresting him for obtaining by false pretences.

They can still arrest him even if this matter is in court.

Assuming the police already arrested him with regards to obtaining by false pretences and in the course of arrest or detention, his rights were infringed upon, he could have sued the police.

He's suing for civil action, police matter is criminal action. They don't stop one another.

Your friend did the wrong thing. Since the police had a court order to freeze his account, he should have gone to the police and sorted it out. It's a small matter but he has complicated it.

No one should come here and start blaming poverty...How can someone rush to scope fuel at such scene knowing fully aware that his life is at risk? some even went with metal containers..This act is just greediness and covetousness, same way they rush food and drinks at a party even though the have plenty at home..No wonder Nigerians have the lowest IQ in the world..

It's so sad that people are so ignorant. The police officers did their best to prevent the raging crowd from scooping the fuel. The transporters were trying to transload the fuel. Nobody could tell if it was a phone call or the hot weather that caused the explosion. I passed the scene of the accident immediately it happened. I saw the driver in tears and pain sitting on the road after odupkani federal housing estate.i saw the police and road safety trying to render assistant to the driver. There were about three guys with kegs busy scooping fuel, the policemen warned them to stop but they refused. The place became rowdy with more youths and women hustling to get their share of the spilled fuel. As I type no fire fighter tank has come to put out the fire.
If another tanker falls tomorrow in that same area people would still go and scoop fuel. We never learn in this country. Standard of living and reasoning is almost below zero. Hell on earth was the case of those that got burnt today. I commiserate with the management of fynfield and rainoil company
