I won't advise you to quit your job because of any PG programme except you are 100% sure of getting a better job after the programme. If you can run the programme without the approval of your company, please go ahead. 2 Likes |

Gilaso: i hope you have money saved up for you and your family for 1-2 years during and after your programme. also what is the guarantee you will get the lecturing job after graduation from masters? is there a guarantee to get the low paying job, if you are single, you can go for it dont be emotional, use your sense, stay in your job and reapply for study leave again or maybe do part-time after getting your masters on the job, start sending your cvs out to universities, once you get the job, you can leave. be patient. 1 Like |

Gilaso 20 years from now, you will be disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did, so throw off the bowlines and sail away from the safe harbor. If you believe in prayers, pray. Analyse the worst case scenarios with each line of action you have to make. Your happiness is in your hands. |

Why not get a position as a Graduate Assistant in a Federal University with your Bachelor's degree, then use the Master's admission to obtain study leave. If the Master's admission is from a foreign university, you can defer your admission for one year. Don't resign your job. |
