You have a great point here. Although it should also be said that most people become conscious of these things during the exam. The way we write here might not be a true reflection of how we write during the exam
It manifests on Indians, I can't say same with Nigerians. Let's believe.

True But I think it’s important we speak and write appropriately at all times, that way we will not be trying to defeat a monster (Exam) but it becomes inherent in us regardless of the circumstance or hurdle we face.

Hmmm!!!
I think these predictions are very likely to be correct

joo2018:
Some musings.

The instances of several people who requested PPR mail from NDVO getting other fresh PPR mails seem to confirm a hypothesis I had about applicants whose applications were approved but forwarded back from Ottawa to CIO without PPR mail.

Here it is: There was a decision to delay issuing of PPR mails because EE Permanent Residence admissions target had been met early for 2018. Delaying PPR mails into Dec 2018 and Jan 2019 meant that people would be forced to land in 2019. Given that Ottawa is the largest office and appears to handle at least 60% of applications, it made sense to restrict the policy to Ottawa. So approved files were forwarded to CIO to be held in a bank. PPR mails for those applications will be triggered in batches at scheduled periods from late December to January 2019.

In practice, NDVO was not involved in the decision. Indians who got PPR from NDVO in Nov/Dec were unlikely to land in 2018 anyway. But through online forums like canadavisa, people got to know of the loophole and it appears as if NDVO has some sort of autonomy anyway. So they began issuing PPRs to every Tom, Dick and Harry who asked as long as the application has been approved.

So, people got the PPRs and Nigerian residents forwarded their passports to Accra. Accra which always follow due process (I hail o!). So Accra has been holding people's passport till the appointed time without issuing CoPR. However, the time period in for the delayed applications has been triggered and so there has been automated release of PPR mails (without visa office specified) for those involved.

Prediction: The repeat PPR mail for some (could be a programming error) will continue until the batched applications have all received PPRs or the automated program turned off. Meanwhile Accra will start releasing passports en-mass from now.

Hmmmm. If IELTS is holding you back, especially after so many attempts, please I beg of you, go back to basics. The foundation is quite poor for a lot of us but we believe because we communicate well in English and write memos and the likes at our workplaces, it means we are ok and should be able to pass IELTS. Sadly as is evident, it's not so. Acing IELTS transcends brilliance and intelligence. There are so many common errors. Been/Being, Where/Were, Lose/Loose, Its/It's/is, I can go on and on. On here and Twitter or Facebook you'd see a lot of these words mixed up. Unfortunately, we don't like being told the truth, we see those that are blunt with us, those that show us our shortcomings as being antagonistic or enemies of progress. Even our friends don't correct our "gbagauns". Please I plead with you in the name of whichever God(god) you serve or whatever you believe in, If you are struggling with IELTS. Get an English Tutor if you can afford one (not necessarily IELTS tutor), go back to basics;buy books for beginners (brighter grammar and the likes), there are several resourceful apps and websites (learnenglishdotbritishcouncildotorg).

Two major areas that need attention from my experience.

- Vocabulary development (synonyms, antonyms, contextual meanings)
- Grammar and Punctuation.

**The great book says: Study to show yourself approved...**

All the best and don't ever give up.

Finally my people. God did it

Ielts breakthrough on the 6th attempt

Have been struggling with listening since 2017.

It can only be God. I remembered I was in tears a day before the exam and all I was asking God was "GIVE ME A BREAKTHROUGH"

Some of previous results

LRWS: 6.5, 8.5, 7.5 7,
LRWS : 7.5 9, 6.5, 8,
LRWS: 7, 9, 7, 7

I can't remember others.

Then on the 5th Jan 2019. Right in the exam hall, I have a deep conviction that I am going to pass.

Then the result came: LRWS : 8 8 7.5 8

To all ielts hopeful
Never give up. Prepare and pray.

In my writing I included personal experiences and examples.

In listening I was not distracted and was very attentive. Though I got confused at one point. But God helped me.

It has ended in praise.

This actually makes a lot of sense. It actually got me calm. I was beginning to worry about why my passport has refused to be returned to me.

Can anyone please confirm if marriage certificate gotten from any local government registry is acceptable by IRCC?

I did a quick search and found that Flyboi1 asked this same question but I didn't see any response to the post.

Good afternoon people, I need an advice.

With crs of 440, is it OK to book medical now ahead? Or must one wait for ITA to do the medicals. Thought there was something like upfront medical Kindly assist with this information. Txd

wait
Medicals isn’t ur main issue now. You should be thinking of how to boost that score while you’re in the pool because, going by the recent score, it might take a while before the score would drop to that level again

Booking is different from actually doing the medicals, and the last I checked qlife is fully booked till like April. I would advice you to book the next available date for medicals, all it would cost you is a phone call. With your CRS, you would most likely get ITA before the end of March( if I’m being optimistic). But if you get it before then, you can always call the hospital and they would try to give you a date before your 60days expires. I also did upfront medicals, did my medicals before ITA, I was lucky to pass my IELTS and get ITA in d next draw.

People that want to pray can form prayer threads of their own.
We can all respect each other’s religion, or stand on religion, while keeping in mind the purpose of the thread.

And how is the prayer not related to the purpose of this thread? Or is IELTS no longer needed?

i don't, blame you though, you probably already passed your IELTS so you won't understand what others are going through.

and oh, next time your hatred for prayers prompts you to reply to such posts, just scroll past...it's only one post for crying out loud and will not stop you from achieving your goals on this thread.
