Finally my people. God did it

Ielts breakthrough on the 6th attempt

Have been struggling with listening since 2017.

It can only be God. I remembered I was in tears a day before the exam and all I was asking God was "GIVE ME A BREAKTHROUGH"

Some of previous results

LRWS: 6.5, 8.5, 7.5 7,
LRWS : 7.5 9, 6.5, 8,
LRWS: 7, 9, 7, 7

I can't remember others.

Then on the 5th Jan 2019. Right in the exam hall, I have a deep conviction that I am going to pass.

Then the result came: LRWS : 8 8 7.5 8

To all ielts hopeful
Never give up. Prepare and pray.

In my writing I included personal experiences and examples.

In listening I was not distracted and was very attentive. Though I got confused at one point. But God helped me.

It has ended in praise.

Big big congratulations!!! It has ended in praise!

You know, the level of hatred you athiests/free thinkers (or whatever the hell y'all call yourselves) have against prayers and religion generally is enough to shorten your lifespan by 50years.

Did you even read what was posted there?
how does 30minutes of prayers translates to all night prayers or not finding practical solutions?

And these people in Canada that don't do all night prayers, do u have any idea how many hours they spend at the therapist's battling one form of depression or another?

oh, so it's okay to go to the therapist and waste hours of productive time but suddenly not okay to pray for 30minutes abi??

if you know how much one hour session with the therapist cost in Canada you will appreciate prayers better and understand why despite the hardships in this country, the number of people battling depression in Canada is way more than those in Nigeria.

see you atheists should leave us alone abeg.

if your "practical solutions" is the answer to all life's problems, there will be no suicide cases due to severe depression in your Canada, and obviously, no visit to the therapist.

All these people quoting me, am I not allowed to contribute my opinion? Somebody suggested night prayers (of at least 30 mins) to pass IELTS, I then opined that it is a waste of time. How is this an issue again? Am I not entitled to give opinions on this thread? Or is it because this was a religious topic?

The day I will carry my sango and amadioha to this thread, and narrate how I danced n'aked round River Ogun before i got ITA, then you people will understand say nor be only una body e dey.

Hi there @Gogedda

First, Huge Congratulations! Your patience is “gangster”.

I’m in a somewhat similar situation with you( Feb 2018 AOR and File moved to Accra in June 2018 for interview)

Finally heard from them for an interview end of Jan so I guess that’s good news.

Wanted to ask you though, What was the original interview invite for and Did they give any reason for waiving? Ours was to clarify Job title/responsibilities for my wife who’s the PA.

Also as a general question to all, is there anyone who’s been to AVO for Interview ( possibly this year) after Medicals and/or police report had expired? Did they ask to re-do Medicals after the interview?

Regards,

BoboXIV

Well, I clearly don't believe in prayer. How about you try some rationality instead? If my interpretation/understanding is wrong, why don't you tell me what you meant? I am genuinely curious.

Edit: Maybe I seemed confrontational in my first post. I didn't mean to be. But if you imply that there is anything wrong with me that requires "deliverance" again, I will assume you want to get personal and respond in kind.

I understand the fact that you don't believe in prayers.
The truth is that prayer is not supposed to make the examiner mark right what is wrong.
Praying for success in an exam can make you come on contact with the right materials, right people, right tips to passing the exam. Sometimes what we are going to sokoto to look for, is right inside our trouser.

For example I had been getting between 28 and 30 over 40 in listening when practicing and it was really disturbing. The issue is just section 3, which of course will affect my composure for section 4. So I started praying about it
I then stumbled upon a tip on naira land about that section, it helped me greatly.
The tip says not to look at the questions or options at all.
Write down as much as you can and as fast as you can from the conversation you are listening to, after the conversation as ended, go back to the question and options, and from what you have written/jotted down, the answers will be steering at you in the face.
It may not work for every one but i tried it and it super worked for me. I started getting 36-38 and your guess is as ggod as mine, I got 8.5 in listening...LRWS 8.5,8.5,7.5,7, first attempt

I have search the thread severally to even say thank you to the person that posted that tip but couldn't find it any more.

Sometimes, all we need is guidance of the spirit to see the opportunities that surround us.

In addition, prayer will also eliminate undue errors when marking your script.
Cos it's possible you get it right and for some odd reason's you did not get complete score. Or how else will we explain the increase in scores after asking for remarks?

So what am I saying? prayer without works will do nothing but prayer can guide you to put in productive efforts, thereby yeilding desired results.

Cheers, God bless

Your class of degree doesn't matter in this journey.

Since you have a pgd, you should be the principal applicant.

Good evening people, please I need your help. I'm currently uploading my post-ITA documents, and I'm having doubts concerning the document to upload for my Police Clearance Certificate. Is it the long white document with my passport, or the smaller one? Also, my PCC says the certificate is valid for 3 months, however, I did it in September, so technically, it expired in December. I have read in some posts that it's valid for six months, what do I believe?
Thanks.

1. For those that use NYSC as part of employment, is reference letter necessary to describe my job role?
2. Am also claiming another two years of work experience from 2014-2016, there has been a gap between 2016 and now due to my MSc programme. How do I bridge the gap on my profile?

Most people upload both. But you're good to go with the small one. That's the actual character certificate.

It remains valid for six months, this was confirmed by IRCC. Go ahead and submit, it hasn't expired yet
Modified:
Only upload valid PCC for the country you currently live in. So pay attention to the expiry date

I would advise you to get a new one. Although the IRCC website says it's valid for 6months, I know of a guy in one of the Whatsapp groups I belong to whose application got refused as incomplete because of expired PCC even though the PCC wasn't up to 6months. So please it's better you get a new so you can sleep better. This wait is agonizing as it is don't add the uncertainty of a valid or invalid PCC to it. Some VOs may interpret the same documents differently but why take the risk. My two cents

For the document to upload, the small pinkish one is the main document but I uploaded both.

Also, the address I filed in when I went for my medical examination was a temporary address, I was staying there while on a two-week seminar in Ogun State. My medical examination is still valid, but would the address be a problem?
