imported this car as toks this year and i serviced in September with Duramax 5w-20 (6quarts) Full synthetic and i checked my dipstick today and it's almost empty.

i have the same oil in my brother's 013 avalon and his has covered 7k miles and its still guaged.

i looked under the vehicle and i found traces of oil. but i don't know if its the engine oil.

Sorry for the mishap ma.

The 2gr-fe engine in your car requires 5w-30 wink

and also, you obviously need to inspect and confirm source of leaks, given the attached pictures.

As this car uses Electric power steering, power steering fluid is ruled out.

Finally confirm the the oil cooler pipe is not the rubber hose type, if it is then it might be a culprit also, given the mileage of your car.

I would advise you dont drive the car for now till this is sorted out.

This is a very good advice because if that oil hose is failing gradually and it's not attended to, the day it will completely fail, it is normally catastrophic. It takes just seconds for the whole oil to spill away and if you are not aware, your engine will knock. I had first hand experience.

i Will check the will cooler pipe. but i don't think it's the culprit.

my 2gr requires 5w-20 stamped on the oil cover and service history .
, the highlanders without tow package uses 5w-20 while majority uses 5w-30

Start with the valve cover gasket and work your way down.

Usually it the valve cover gasket and check the condition of the PCV valve it builds up pressure in the engine and blows out the gasket

Wash the engine thoroughly. Then hunt for the source of the oil leak. Your oil is leaking out from either the cooler hose or one of the gaskets. I seriously suspect the valve cover gasket.

A special Highlander for a special lady wink

As earlier post have mentioned , kindly check your valve cover gasket (the one at the rear close to the engine firewall)

angryupdate.
the oil leaking is from the drive shaft.

Now I'm wondering if the engine is burning synthetic 5w-20 oil.
i topped it up with 20w50 Mobil and it took exactly 2 quarts to gauge .
should this vehicle burn 2quarts in 1800miles ?

Inner Cv joint booth might be broken throwing grease all under the tie rod booth but there is too muck on the lowers side of the frame wash it and check again 2 quarts is going somewhere, wash the area and drive for 10 mins at a high speed see where your first spot of oil comes from

Start from your valve cover and go downwards

"...leaking from the driveshaft"? There's no way the oil shortage could be from the driveshaft. You may have oil spills on the shaft, either from the CRANKSHAFT PULLEY SEAL, or as others have suggested, from the valve cover gasket. One more thing. Timing chain mating surfaces could be leaking too.

The exact reason the vehicle was part exchanged/auctioned off.........

Your best option, get the vehicle on a ramp + degrease the underneath......

Watch if any leaks happens afterwards, if not..... Take it on a drive around the block, ramp it again and check.......

Drive shaft? undecided

Could it be that you have two fluid leaks - an ATF leak (transmission seal?) as well as a motor oil leak (cause still unknown)?
