Hello ma’am,

I was referred to your platform by a sister whom I confided in about my problem. I need your counsel on a matter that is bothering me. I got married about eight months ago. My husband and I are nine years apart in age. When I met my husband,he seemed very mature and religious. That was actually what drew me to him. We used to go to alot of spiritual retreats,etc.

My husband belonged to a popular deliverance ministry and I actually went to their ministry for prayers because of the many challenges that I was facing. That is how we connected.He even become my prayer partner at one time. A year later,he proposed to me and I was very happy. Marriage was one of my prayer points. I was 34 years,he was 43 years old.

The issue now is,after we got married,my husband told me that he does not like women who.....

The issue now is,after we got married,my husband told me that he does not like women who shave their armpit hairs and pubic hairs. I asked why,he said its a sin and a sign of waywardness. I told him its a matter of hygiene but he said,regular washing up is fine for that. I thought he was just kidding but anytime I shaved,he would get angry and call me a sinner and an immoral woman.He became quite aggressive and called me an unsubmissive wife.

He said that as my husband he owns my body and demands that I do not shave anymore. Again,for a grown woman like me,I feel very uncomfortable going around with unshaved private hairs. He said if I cannot cope,then he will send me packing. Who will believe that my marriage broke up because of shaving of pubic hairs?

Anyway,for peace to reign,I agreed and stopped shaving. But I got pregnant three months later. After a while,I started attending ante natal clinic. I had to UnCloth anytime I went for ultra sound. I felt very uncomfortable with some of my private area hair showing during the procedures. At our ante natal classes,the matron taught us to make sure we cleaned up before our due date. That promoted me to shave cos I was five months gone.

I tried to explain to my husband why I did that,instead of him to understand,he started to shout and call me a cheater. That I was cheating and hence I shaved. He then said,he is sure that the pregnancy is not for him. That I am using it as an excuse to meet my lover. Ma,since,its everyday we quarrel and fight over this matter. He has stopped eating my food and says I must go for deliverance before he can even touch me or eat my food.

I confided in a fellow woman at the ante natal,she was the one that said that I should seek for advice. She even suggested that I hope its not fetish that my husband is insisting on not shaving. From my experience,men like it when a woman cleans up,not the other way around. She encourage me to reach out to your platform.Please,is there any man out there who feels what my husband is asking me to do is normal? Is it fetish?

I don’t know how I will continue like this…its very uncomfortable and unhygienic for me. I need your advise ma and those members of your platform.
